Holy ****.

Can't believe something actually came of this.

On one hand I want to think they wouldn't have shown that angle at all if they knew it could result in something like this. On the other hand, there's plausible denial. I just don't buy it though. The guy would have had to see the video then order the delay of it. Toronto has never had a timeframe to stick to for reviews. Would this hypothetical producer have been able to guess that timeframe, then act on it, knowing he'd be right? By a margin of a couple of seconds, on which his job was balanced? I doubt it.

They didn't show that shot until after the decision was made. At that point it's officially a no goal no matter what.

Are you suggesting that a professional TV producer suddenly forgot how many freakin' cameras he had at the game?

Oops, forgot Camera 4. C'mon.....

I think that's the question. Is it plausible he didn't forget... but purposely didn't send up the video?

Not only that, but they had a perfect zoom in shot of the puck across the line ready to go once the goal was called no goal.

No, that was an accident. They don't cue those kind of replays up in advance, do they?

Right now Rick Jeanneret is lighting a cigar and celebrating the fact that he is now part of only the second worst broadcasting crew in the world.

No. I'm saying that he had a very, very short window of time to make this conspiratorial decision.

Don't forget there are a lot of people in those rooms. Interns and whatnot who would end up wondering why they just watched "THE SHOT" and it wasn't plugged in to the official broadcast when it was so obviously important.

I wish they were given clearance to come here and just unload for one day. One day one thread. Why not mods it'd be fun.

I'd show them a thing or two (about a thing or two)

and of course you have Pens fans using the jealousy card on this subject.

I think something will come of this. If FSN had the video that showed evidence of the goal they can and should be fined. Because if they dont they will probably try and get away with it again in a playoff game.

I don't acknowledge pens fans who use the jealously card as human beings. They're cartoon robots who can't move and who fire drool out of their gun hands.

Sounds like somebody is a little jealous of their gun-hands. Just saying.

I think the FSN producers should be fined, fired and give Gagne the goal.

After all the Belicheat/Cheatriots crap I got from Steelers fans...it's official, the Cheatsburgh Penguins.

I'd settle for a fine and Steigy gets fired.

I doubt the Penguins get fined for this . . . but FSN absolutely should be, but knowning the NHL and all of their bogus, ambigious rules who knows if they even have the power to do such a thing and if they can, that they actually fine them something that fits with the crime. I don't want to see FSN suspended for one game and fined $2,500.

The FSN staff should be locked in the room with a drunk and angry Carcillo

I think this brings up a bigger issue with replay, I hate how it goes out to a third party site for the decision. There needs to be some kind of viewing screen in the score keepers area and put it back in the hands of the officials. The official who was there for the call is more likely to know exactly what to look for when reviewing a goal. Maybe there was one uncertainty or visual landmark that if he can match up on video, he knows its a goal. I don't know what type of communication he has with the "war room" in Toronto, but taking it out of the hands of the guy on the ice is, in my opinion, a terrible thing to do.

I am not asking for a NFL/MLB type station off the ice, but a quick little TV similar to the NBA score table's that they use for 3 point determination and clock stuff.

I just want to see the league take over the replay system. Something that vital should not be in the hands of third party contractors paid by the individual clubs.

If this was a game deciding goal it would be more of a deal.

But im glad the league is actually acknowledging that there was a **** up.

Pens fans are absolutely dilusional. I haven't been on the main board thread since last night, but seriously, they're arguing that it was human mistake. Sure it could happen, but you're telling me they sent every angle, EXCEPT the only one that mattered. Smells like ********. I'm glad something is being done about this, but I highly doubt anything comes of it. I just hope it'll prevent it from happening in the future, when a much more important game could be on the line.

The thing is, Pannachio and Philabright (I think it was him) were both tweeting because they saw the one replay that showed the puck in the net. Both were very confident that it would stand, and I thought THEY were being homers because the shots we saw didn't show the puck entering the net. Then the goal was waived off and a few seconds later we saw the one conclusive shot. The Pens announcers were giggling like 11 year old girls about it as soon as they saw it, as if they got away with one, which, they did.

I feel like something has to happen. The fourth tie breaker in NHL standings is goal differential. Yes, it's highly unlikely that the final standings will come to that, but it's possible.
