Pickup Hockey in CT

Anyone know where I can play pickup hockey in Conneticutt? I live in Hartford but I don't mind driving 20-30min to play .

I think there's a rink not too far from me in Danbury, but that's definitely a bit of a hike for you.

Danbury has fast pick up on Fri nights (high school, college kids) and beer league level on Sat-Sun early mornings. Check thier website:

Check out the ISCC in Simsbury. I dk if they have a beer league but I know they do have open hockey I think it is 10:30 on Saturdays or something like that. Also only 20 min or so from Hartford especially if you don't have to put up with workday traffic! http://www.isccskate.com/

No. You should know by now that those who play hockey usually do not date

I grew up in Hartford and off the top of my head think you should be looking at the rinks in Newington, West Hartford, South Windsor, and Cromwell.

All four are within 20-30 minutes of Hartford (even less depending on where you live in the city) and as far as I remember had plenty of pickup action (moved away 6 years ago though, so check it out first). All four rinks feature two sheets of ice and there is even a single sheet up in Bolton and one in Storrs as well if you're out that way.

If you're ever looking for hockey equipment though, make sure to take a swing up to South Windsor Arena. I highly recommend walking upstairs to their stick room or even take a peek into the goalie area to see the wide array of equipment available.

Hope you find something that works for you!
