This might be the game it comes apart. Laviolette will be coaching his balls off keeping the team focused, because the Leafs are going to want to fight after the shenanigans of the last one. Some people here might be underestimating that factor. They were not happy, and more often than not the next time the two teams play you get their best effort.

I was thinking that as well. I kind of wouldn't mind a loss tonight. I have a feeling if they win tonight they might come out flat this weekend, and I wouldn't mind that let down getting out of the way in time for them to get up for the Pens.

It's kind of hard to maintain that personal sense of urgency to play your balls off when your team is blasting everyone and you feel like they could probably win with out your A game. A loss tonight puts everyone's pedal to the metal this weekend. Of course they could always win both......

***EDIT*** And then I realize the Pens game sin't till next weekend. The perils of being a mush.

We need to get going early and get the first goal. Last game, the Laffs were the ones who started off well during the first three shifts but didn't capitalize. We can't give them any confidence whatsoever. And Carcillo has to stay focused, he's from just north of here and will want to put on a performance for his family and friends but he can't be stupid about it.

Sadly, I look for the refs to give out several game misconducts or minimum 10 minute oens very early to keep this game from getting out of hand. If the flyers play their game the leafs cant keep up. They ar ein turmoil right now and could be quiting on their coach. Please for the love of God do not dress spider rico.

Nothing changes for this game. Good effort and discipline hockey.

2pts is more important then a fight. I am sure Carcillo knows it.

Keep the wins a rolling please. Even with the great stretch we still dangerously close to 10th place.

Stay focused. Hit the Leafs where it really hurts; on the scoreboard. I'm not against supplementing, but we need to focus on winning games now.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a blood bath tonight. Hopefully they're not stupid enough to take a million penalties. Just stay disciplined, and get under their skin like last time. That little ****er Orr better not go running Richie again.

I think Carcillo is aware of the situation and hopefully he can keep his head level.

According to MSE, Leighton.

Here's to hoping for a great game, and another win.

I've got a $50 bet on this with my Pops.

Well, I wouldn't call Orr a little anything. He's a big dude and a good fighter.

If the Leafs goonery takes runs, then stick up for one another. Otherwise, take advntage of the PP's in a game that is sure to be tightly reffed.

Leighton again vs. Toronto

Goaltender Michael Leighton will be back between the pipes for tomorrow’s game in Toronto, head coach Peter Laviolette said today. Leighton will be making his 11th straight start, and is 8-0-1 with one no-decision in that span.

While Leighton’s play has been as big a reason as any for Philadelphia’s recent success, the fact that the team is getting leads for its goaltender has made the job easier. Philadelphia has scored first in each of the previous 10 games, going 8-1-1 in the process to climb back into the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

“It’s usually tight in the first period or so, and all I have to do is make a couple of saves. It seems like the team responds in the second period and usually has an outbreak of goals, so that’s good,” said Leighton today of the Flyers, who are averaging 5.75 goals per game over the last five games overall.

Leighton and Laviolette stuck to the old cliché today about taking things one game at a time. Ray Emery and Brian Boucher are both healthy, but there is no indication just yet as to when either of them will get back into game action.
