What has gone on then in the papers or whatever? everyone talking about fights?

Why isn't it just considered a normal hockey game between two sides? is there actually any bad blood between the sides?

Just say no to Cote. No need to answer the thuggery attempt by the Leafs. Ive already given the reasons why.
Well I smell a fight fest here, and we need to protect our key players. Got a feeling their biggest guns will go after my boy, and Cote should be there to give him a hand. This is team work.

The Leafs didn't particularly like Carcillo's antics and yapping last time they met, and have recalled AHL goon Jay Rosehill for tonight. The Toronto media is treating the game like Wrestlemania as a result.

Cote doesn't protect anyone from anything. Do you actually think that Cote deters a guy on an opposing team from taking a run at Richards or Carter?

Carcillo's a bigger deterrent, because he's bat**** insane enough to take a run at Toronto's one good player.

Leafs' personnel changes for tonight...

http://network.nationalpost.com/np/b...for-leafs.aspx

Quote:
“It’s hard to say, if things happen out there , they happen,” he said. “ But I’ve been instructed to just do what I did before, skate up and down the wing and finish my checks and not do anything out of the ordinary. If they’re over there looking to do it, I’m sure we’ll show up either way. But as far as us having things set up, it’s not that way.”

Rosehill will not be the only addition in Toronto’s lineup.

Defenceman Carl Gunnarsson said he was told he would play and it’s expected Jeff Finger will be a healthy scratch to make room.

Backup goalie Vesa Toskala will also get his second start of 2010 in place of Jonas Gustavsson.

If Toskala's in, they need to work on shooting from the blueline...their own blueline.

LOL.
Cote is a punching bag on skates. Philly has enough guys who can throw down if the situation calls for it.

Nice to see Carl "Son of a" Gunnarsson get some ice time.

Here's a timeline.

- Carcillo (and a few others, I think) refusing to go with Orr.
- A weak-looking 2-minute boarding call on Richards where the leaf appeared injured or shaken up, crumbling to the ice. This of course played into the Flyers' image and the usual thing happened on hfboards and in the media.
- Retaliation against Richards
- A shift where Orr again tried to get Carcillo to go, instead he scored the highlight reel goal a few seconds later.

So it's a weird mix of things, legitimate and otherwise.

You can thank Phil Kessel and Burke for not having a first to draft Hall ;p

A chance? You won't be able to escape it.

This is from 3:00 on Philly.com:

http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/...t_Tonight.html

Quote:

The two teams combined for four fights and 80 penalty minutes last time.

That’s why I have a feeling Flyers coach Peter Laviolette will insert Riley Cote into the lineup tonight. Cote, who shaved off his long locks over the weekend, hasn’t played since Dec. 21 against Florida. In that game, he played just 64 seconds. He has only dressed in 12 games all season.

Laviolette wouldn’t confirm or deny an addition for Cote.

“We’re still making up our minds on the lineup decisions for tonight, so I’m not going to comment on any changes right now,” Laviolette said at the Air Canada Centre.

I’m getting the notion that if Cote was not going to dress, Laviolette probably would have just said “no” when asked. The question - if that's true - is who would sit out? The Flyers' four lines have been clicking, scoring 44 goals in the last 10 games.

“We’re here to play hard, compete like crazy and make sure we come out with the two points,” Laviolette said. “We’re going to battle, hit, skate and hopefully score some goals.”

Their biggest guns probably don't even remember who OKT is. I am sure that every player on the ice, person in the stands and hobo out back will be bringing brass knuckles for Carbomb.

Mods, take note. I'm restraining myself as well as I ever have right now. That should buy me some consideration in the future.

So we will be running 4 lines of a cloned Darroll Powe, with original Powe behind the bench?

Leaf fan here, come in peace as always.

Finger's a healthy scratch because he's awful. While Wilson does have tons of questionable coaching decisions, no Leaf fans are questioning him on this issue. The tandem of Exelby and Finger actually drew comparisons to Berg and Belak (think about that for a second) in the GDT against the Hurricanes.

Yeah he's coming off a six week elbow injury so hopefully, from a Leafs perspective he's back to form.

Fighters know each other well, and OKT has been fighting in the NHL for five seasons, including some current Leafs. They know exactly who fights and who don't.
