Internet Hockey Summit

Quote:
My name is Curtis Tudor and I own and operate Crash The Crease 24/7. I served as the moderator for this summit and presented each of our experts with questions to garner clarity on these important topics.

Like other hockey fans I am bothered and intrigued by many issues surrounding the National Hockey League. With this Summit I was able to bring the brightest hockey minds on the Internet together and sit them down for a round table discussion in order to further touch up on some of the hottest debated topics in the game today.

Hopefully this Summit is able to bring the clarity we are searching for to each of these topics we covered and I look forward to holding a second Internet Hockey Summit in the near future.

Taking Part of the First Annual Internet Hockey Summit:

Curtis Tudor – Crash The Crease
Lyle Richardson – Spector’s Hockey
Paul Kukla – Kukla’s Korner
Greg Wyshynski – Puck Daddy

Interesting, although its hard to take it seriously when the suggested punishment for headshots whether intentional or not is 5 game suspension....

I personally think the US should have the Winter Classic each year on New Years and Canada should have a Heritage Classic outdoors on Hockey Day in Canada.

This is one of the best ideas I've heard in a long time.

Is this an example of the level of intellectual discourse which will be on display at this summit?

The Winter Classic on New Years Day is so dumb. It's a good idea to attract fans, but why compete with arguably the biggest College Football day of the year?

(I realize this isn't the National Championship, but there are more bowl games on the first, hence a bigger day.)

Why don't we just make it the same day as the Super Bowl?

Then we could have our game of the week on channel 433938. Oh wait...

I don't think the the Bowl games affect the games ratings all that much personally.

Even if they were to change the date, when would be the best time in the US to hold it?

The lull between the 1st and the championship game? Maybe the lull between the Conference Championships and Super Bowl (even though they just put the Pro Bowl there)?

Personally, I think it should be ANYTHING else. Growing up, I've always equated New Years Day to College Football. It's exactly the same to me as Thanksgiving and NFL. I'm not saying pick a day where it competes with NOTHING, but not a day that IMHO, is just known for a number of massively intense college football games.

Light bulb moment that.

I was a little surprised though about the Olympics comments.

Part of the no show bluff is to try and leverage a deal out of the KHL.

No benefit to the league?, maybe it's more about the potential, if the states win gold then what? I argue it's a boon.

They are probably more likely to win it these days with amateur players.
