I thought last night might of been Gomez's best game as a Hab. He was the best player on the ice last night IMO.

Great game overall! Good to see Price get some goal support finally. But i noticed soemthing that the canadiens havent done in a long long time, keeping it simple, just shooting the puck towards the net and crashing the net. I've been watching the canadiens for many years now and i always found they try to be too fancy and they complicate their game. But tonight they kept it simple, shot, shot, shot on net, shooting low to create rebounds, others crashing the net to pot in the rebounds, beautiful work.

Happy with the win for sure. Great to see Gionta with 2 goals and Cammy finally putting in his 21st. Should be a good one against Ottawa tomorrow a win moves us ahead of them with the same number of games.

Haha yes, that's a wonderful bonus.

Oh and Congrats to BGL. His celebration last night put a big smile on my face.

I think he has been the best Hab since coming back from his injury......unfortunately for some, his $$$ will always be a sore spot. The thing I have noticed about Gomez, is just not on the offensive side of the game, but coming back, he breaks up alot of plays back in his own zone...nice to see a 7.3M player back checking!

Ya that contract will always be an anchor on him but that's the reality of the salary cap. He has 13 points in his last 10 games (I think) and like you said he's also playing very well defensively (also on the PK been great). I was really hard on him earlier this season but I'm definitely starting to change my tune.

It just sucks that AKost had to get hurt because if not, our top 6 would be really solid.

He was great...

However, I think he was even better the game against the Devils. He just was ridiculously dominating the play this game.

Anyone else see that the trap with gomez and pouliot is working very well lately. I dont know how many times pouliot and gomez intercepted passes at the opposing blue line tonight but it was great to watch.

It's a little disconcerting how much our win/loss affects my days... If we lose, I can't even watch sportscentre, I am in a foul mood. If we win, I watch SC like a million times and am in a great mood even next day.

I missed a lot of Habs games lately because I was on vacation in Florida, but after watching last nights game I have to say I'm very impressed with Pouliot's play.
He was playing well on offense and defense, and he wasn't afraid to shoot the puck either.
Like someone else posted in this thread it's nice to see the Habs shooting the puck. With guys like Gionta/Pouliot, Cammy/Akost on our top 2 lines they should be told to shoot every chance they get, and even though Plekanec/Gomez are pass first kind of players they still take a good number of shots themselves.

Indeed, more goals would mean more wins for the Habs. They are 11th in terms of Goals Allowed per Game (2,65). But they are 27th in terms of Goals scored per Game (2,50), which is terrible.

You guys aren't alone. Try going out on a hockey night. The city just has a livlier vibe when the habs win. Everybody is just in a better mood. Or maybe it's just the alcohol.

Of course I'm in a sour mood after the Habs lose. The first thing I do is flip the channels to make sure the Bruins and Flyers also lose. This season I get particular satisfaction out of games like last night's Toronto 4 Philadelphia 0 because they tend to move the Leafs a tad lower in the first round of the draft and keep Taylor Hall out of the clutches of the Bruins. I actually root for Phil Kessel this season.
