Powe reported to be "fine."

Not sure if that is to be taken literally.

The Flyers also lost center Darroll Powe to an “upper body” injury. He played one shift in the second period.

Powe returned to the Flyers’ lineup just before Christmas after missing 16 games because of a left shoulder sprain. Assistant general manager Barry Hanrahan wouldn’t elaborate, but said Powe was “fine.”

An update from earlier today:

http://www.csnphilly.com/pages/landi...478&feedID=704

Quote:
Powe is … well? He got good news from the doctor, who said Powe was “good” to go, according to general manager Paul Holmgren on late Friday, but the club won’t know for sure until after Saturday’s practice.

For his part, Powe says he expects to play on Sunday.

“I feel good,” he said.

Asked about his left shoulder, which he previously sprained in San Jose on Nov. 20, missing 16 games, Powe replied, “I can’t comment on any of that; you’ll have to ask The Big Guy.”

That would be Holmgren.

“He’s better today, he’s at the doctor, we’re kinda keeping our fingers crossed he’ll be okay for Sunday,” Holmgren said.

He added Powe was kept out of the game after taking one shift in the second period as a precaution. Neither he nor Powe would offer any hints as to how the injury occurred.

Powe would only say, “I couldn’t finish the game.”

This reeks of a player being told to play injured. I'd be willing to bet Powe is hurt, and I wish he wasn't playing Sunday. He is a hockey player. Hockey players don't miss two periods of a game with a "no big deal" type of injury.

Then again I don't know if we can afford to lose him. Sucks. Hoepfully he really is fine.
I'm suspicious.

has nothign to do with Powe but...

http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/...homestand.html

Paul Holmgren said Parent had "setbacks" last week with the herniated disk in his back. Syvret will be out until around the Olympic break next month with a separated left shoulder. *
