I don't know why Pleks took the faceoff with the goalie pulled, he barely wins won all night and he's taking the most important one of the game? Gomez was one the ice!! Why isn't he taking it, thats so frustrating.

Oh and Lap + Bergy + Laraque is not a NHL line, AHL maybe.

if Price had made the Alfie save...Montreal may have scored after...Price killed the momentum...just like when Modano scored the other night

It would be nice if more than one line could score some goals, we must lead the league is goal scoring slumps.

Starting to really hate this Price bashing. It's starting to really piss me off. To the point I am 'almost' wanting Halak to mess up just to shut up all those idiots saying trade Price because he sucks...'Almost'. I still want Halak to play lights out every game, as well as Price. Unfortunately, unless both goalies play lights out, we lose because, if this game is any indication, we suck large.

Price played alright. Wasn't great but wasn't horrible either.
...But the team in front of him? Oh lord, now THAT was horrible.

Even though we dominated the shots at the beginning, we were giving the puck away and losing battles like no ones business and it continued ALL GAME.

Frankly, if it was Chicago or Washington we would have gotten creamed (unless Price/Halak played on his head). Our passing was atrocious.

Price didn't win us the game but he sure didn't lose us the game either.

Sorry, habs lost because the team played like absolute trash in front of Price.

- Plante became a great goalie at 25.
- Worsley? With Montreal? His first great season with us happened when he was 36 years old....At 22 years old he was playing with the Saskatoon Quakers
- Vachon: AT 22 years old he had a fine season but played 39 games. But started to be more solid the year after and so on.
- Dryden: Started his great career at 24.
- Roy....Yeah, he's no Roy. Still Roy, after winning the Cup at 20, wasn't being the goaltender for 60+ games. He wasn't a clear cut #1 after that cup if you remember. Until he was much older.

So just those stats and even if you disregard the fact that most of those goalies had a much much much better teams to work with, disregaring that those goalies worked in a different era, I really have no idea how you can base yourself to say that he's not going to be franchise goalie.

I wasn't trying to start a fight.
Brodeur is a great backup/third string. It's been three games now and he has a 1.00 GAA, and has stopped 83 of 86 shots (I believe). He's not the permanent solution, but for now until we get a number one, he'll do fine.

End this arguement....blame him.....then trade him, and find a new scape goat.......trade him.....send him to a new team....a team that can play for him, goalies are not supposed to steal games all year.

Sometimes the team should go a few games and score 4...5....6 goals and relieve the pressure

You mention Plante, Vachon, Gumper, Dryden, and they all had teams that could score and not trip all over themselves trying to make a routine pass.

Roy was the exception for a while when they were the boring as team, Burns coached....like watching paint dry...back when you could "clutch and grab" to your hearts content and not get a penalty, they call penalties now for thinking about it.

Don't compare this team with the 50's Canadiens, or the 60's Canadiens or the 70's Canadiens or even the 93 Canadiens.....Remember the night got lite up for about 8 goals by Detriot and got run out of town.

EIGHT goals....yeh Roy was perfect.

Momentum? Re-watch the game. We were losing all the battles from the very beginning. We just had better scoring chances. The atrocious passing began from the start and continued all the way to the end.

If wonder if Columbus fans are having the same reaction as Hab fans toward Price and ready to give up on Steve Mason and trade him? With young goalies there will be growing pains...

Hey guys...Whats the deal with O'Byrne? Is he back with the team? Healthy scratch tonight?

Blaming Price is much more easier and makes people feel better because they cannot accept or offense has been awful. They rather blame Price than Pacioretty, D'Agostini, Lapierre etc...

Much more easier, much more easier.

Price is a bust, he is not as good as Plante and Roy. He should play as good as Roy and Plante RIGHT NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.. ****ing stupid.

We got one good goal, one lunchy goal by pleks and our goalie lost the game? Come on already. the goalie can't be held responsible for lack of O

One questionable goal allowed by Price. the other two were a deflected puck and a horrible giveaway by pouliot on the PP

Beef about the lack of scoring and failure to finish

Since you can see the future and are so sure that Price will never be a franchise goalie I will also pull out my crystal ball... I guarantee you if you trade Price right now you will be very sorry in 2-3 years watching him play on another team...

There really is no end to this Halak/Price thing is there... Problem is it still won't end even after one of them is gone...Hab fans will still be arguing that we should have kept this guy and traded the other and vice versa...
Goaltending truly is the least of Montreal's problems. It's too bad some folks can't see that.

The defence is a ****ing shambles, pressure Montreal's D and you play in their end all night. Spacek is truly horrible, now their may be a reason, but his turnovers night after night are a horror show.
Gill and Mara are good on the PK, but a top line will expose them time and time again.
And the lack of physicality from the Habs D is not helping them either, nobody is scared to go in the corners with them.

Lack of scoring depth.....it would be nice if the third and fourth line could chip in a few goals.
Habs have 1 solid scoring line, and 2/3 of line, Dagger is killing that 2nd line, put Moen up there, because that line needs to start contributing more.

and JM ffs...utilize this team's speed, and get rid of the collapsing down low ****, leaving the points exposed, for shots to get through from the point, or worse deflected.

Strange...I thought Gill was alright. Then again, he probably caused some turnovers that I missed...but for what ever reason it just seemed like he didn't 'cause' much damage today.

According to the other posters it is not any of our business.

Regardless, We think he is with the team and we are just waiting for him to get into game shape. Our hearts go out to him and his family.

the turnover was at center ice...I think Price had time to adjust...the great shootout goalie himself.... and franchise goalies should be able to catch a puck
