I thought I would propose this trade on the Oiler's board before most likely being crucified on the main board.
Andrew Cogliano (RFA) - Jeff Deslauriers/Devin Dubnyk (RFA)
This deal would happen after the season, sometime around the draft but before July 1st
If Eberle does make the Oilers next season and Edmonton drafts either Hall or Seguin there are some major roster spot issues next season, the Oilers have to trade some forwards, I think Cogliano has the highest trade value because of his previous two seasons and his age. Edmonton has to decide which of their two young goaltenders to resign at seasons end, instead trade one for a superior potential #1 that would be able to take over if Khabibulin continues to struggle with injuries,
Minnesota has locked Backstrom up, and while I think they would prefer to keep Harding as their backup he wouldn't be their #1 for quite a few years. The Wild receive a young backup to fill the hole left by Harding as well as getting some young offensive talent up front.
