Maybe not losing his potential, but he sure as hell isn't using the most of it right now.

Honestly, I think D'Agostini is more useless than Laraque. I'd keep Laraque before. At least he can score goals!

Seriously… Cammalleri and Plekanec can use a big (Ht: 6-1, Wt: 210-220) winger who can score goals (as mentioned by MathMan: "… he had 30 goals in the AHL last year and 16 in 32 games this year…") on their line.

However Carey Price – the poster! - mentioned that Darche does not use his body enough… so let's hope that Darche realises that this team could use a big body upfront and makes the most out of his opportunity while Sergei is injured.

No matter what… Darche can't do worst than D'Agostini!
Uh What ? How the flip do you get this ? Markov ok, but he never said D'Ago and never would. At least try to make sense with your post !

According to nhl.com Darche in the 2007-2008 season was credited for 125 hits in 73 games with the tampa bay lightning so he got some physicality in his game.

Because he's even softer than most of our lineup. (!)

While this is an impressive feat, this is not what we want. Sykora is like D'Agostini except older and with occasional spurts of otherwise long gone talent (wereas Dago has none or very little to start with).

For some reason I thought Darche was like 5'7 or something...

Anyways can't be worse than d'Agostini.

Quite possibly because that'd happen at 11 AM today so that all teams have time to put in a claim if they want to.

Darche probably just insurance in case Pouliot can't play. He probably doesn't dress unless someone who's borderline can't go.

I know; I just don't understand why some fans seem unhappy about this call-up. Darche is big, had 16 goals in 32 games with the Dogs and, as underlined by HockeyWarrior (post #56), he can throw his body around a little.

As mentioned by doug mckenzie (post #44), sure the clock is ticking for Darche but he "… might be another Steve Begin/Metro who knows…".

I hope Darche makes the most of his opportunity while Sergei is injured; Plekanec and Cammalleri can sure use a big winger on their line!

Because White so far has brought nothing much. They want to mix up the soup by having other guys try.

But the thing is, we need an offensive guy that could play on the first two lines and Desharnais would fit that mold more.

Yes, they need some one that can add some muscle. Preferably someone that also can score (Yes, I'm pretty much describing AKost). I'm hoping that Darche can somewhat fill this void, and maybe he has more confidence than MaxPac and D'Ago.

Thanks to F. Gagnon from La Presse and cyberpresse.ca:

"J’ai déjà dit aux gars – Michael Cammalleri et Tomas Plekanec – que je leur laissais l’entier contrôle de la rondelle en sortie de zone et que je foncerais au filet. C’est là que j’ai toujours marqué mes buts, c’est donc là où je me rendrai lors du match" - Darche

"I told the guys (Cammalleri and Plekanec) that I will let them control the puck during the rush while I go to the net. I scored most of my goals from that area so that's where I will be tonight." – Darche

So far so good; good luck Mathieu! I mean... who knows?

Source (in French and I don't have the time to translate it entirely…. Some funny stuff in there… especially the story with Mike Keane!): http://blogues.cyberpresse.ca/gagnon/?p=70315503
