Was the highest scoring forward on a team that went to G7 of the SCF.

How has he earned it?

I don't know, maybe by hard work?

If he's so bad, why can't this team find a better option?

Why do coaches keep giving him 20+ minutes a night?

Maybe Quinn loves him too?

Maybe when Renney takes over next year and he's still playing 20 minutes a night, Renney will have an illogical man crush on him too?

Maybe Horcoff has pictures of everyone!!!!

Are you for real? Inferiority complex? You know nothing about me. We are disagreeing about a hockey player on a team we both cheer for. Give your head a shake.

Not at the same rate he was early in the season... both him and Quinn stated in pressers he couldn't take that many, and he hasn't since.

No he wasn't.

Proof?

Good grief.

Your devotion to mediocrity knows no bounds.

Horcoff has been taking by far the most draws on the team for a month and half. NHL.com is your friend.

While I'm sure he has had shoulder issues, many NHL players play with nagging injuries and their games don't drop into an elevator shaft.

Horcoff has reverted to the mean and had the complication of a minor injury.

That seems to equal a very mediocre hockey player.

By default. On most teams he would be third line center at best, fourth in Pittsburgh.

That is admirable but this is a business driven by results, and his dont measure up to expectations or his pay grade.

Gagner is already taking time away from him on the first line and PP. Seguin will be pushing him onto the third line soon enough.

Because he is the only veteran center we have. Kind of like the ugly girl at camp. But I hear there are some swimsuit models on the way.

Maybe he doesnt? What's your point? Oh right you dont have one.

I really hope not because the fans of this team deserve better. He has proven that he cant carry this team or even help get them into the playoffs the last three years and counting.

Sounds like he has some good ones of you to be sure.

Very mediocre... at best.

A lot of people have invested a lot of time, energy and emotion into Horcoff, Inc. over the last couple of years... I can't blame them for going to extremes to get back what they can out of it.

1) Because there isn't one. It's like if you get your dominant hand cut off, and you have to learn how to do everything with the other one. Even if your writing looks like ****, guess what? There isn't another option. Doesn't mean I'd find having one hand the best EVAR!!11!!

2) He's the highest-paid forward on the team. He may be an atrocious hockey player this season, but that doesn't mean the coaching staff won't try and beat that rented mule for every extra mile they can.

Well, I see a point per game season in there, along with another season where he outscored tough opposition.

So probably this year?

#1) So maybe crucifying the best option we have available isn't the best idea?

#2) Do you really think Quinn cares who makes the most money? He certainly had no issue putting TheCaptainEthanMoreau and his 2.0 cap hit on the fourth line. Nor did he have an issue putting O'Sullivan and his nearly $3,000,000 on the fourth line. Nor did he have an issue putting Staios on the 3rd pairing at $2,700,000. Nor did he have an issue starting Penner, the third highest paid forward, on the third line. Didn't have a problem calling out our highest paid defensemen in Lubo several times, nor did he have a problem calling out Gilbert at 4.0. Didn't have a problem starting Gagner on the 4th line and saying "he shouldn't have made the team when he did."

... but Horcoff is different?

All due respect Bugg, but I'm not buying his salary has one iota to do with his ice time, because it hasn't had an impact on any other player on the team, nor has reputation.

And since Hemsky just happens to be out for the year Shawn suddenly falls into a -24foot well. Nah, it's not this year.

Horcoff before injury:

15 games
5 points
-6

That's 27 points over 82 games.

Seems like Horcoff was sucking long before the Islanders game.

What pace was he on before Hemsky was injured though. I'm curious, but lazy.

What kind of ****** player would see his numbers drop if his most common linemate went from Hemsky to Jacques...!

Dont know what you are on about? He has been playing with O'Sullivan, Penner, Nilsson, the most gifted offensive players on the team. He only had his can tied to the fourth line for a few games.

The sad thing is for the money Horcoff is making he should be making Nilsson, Penner, O'Sullivan ect better players but the opposite has been true. Horcoff is a black hole when it comes to offense. The guy couldn't even create a PB&J sandwich.

I thought he shut down Daniel Sedin very well tonight. That should be his role. Its what he is good at. Who cares about his salary? There is nothing that can be done about it now. Use him in the right role, which I thought he was tonight.

Actually I'm seeing a lot of Hemsky Gagner Penner Visnovsky combinations on the scoresheet. Christ, Horcoff was so listless at the start of the season that they had to put that line together to "face the toughies".

He has never had a full PPG season. Never.

Basing his competence on one short stretch of games like the '06 playoff run is like annointing Pisani one of the league's top snipers.

Both are an aberration not the norm.

As for "outscoring", that is just a spinerama move of Horcoffian proportions.

He is MINUS 15 for his career.

As a comparison, Henrik Sedin is PLUS 118.

Now that's an "outscorer"

Oh, and one of them is far better PP performer too.

Once again I have to point out to a HorCultist that Horcoff has never been a PPG player.
