From the Habs' Facebook feed.

Habs Insideout says O'Byrne will likely replace Mara.

From RDS:

"Il devrait être de retour dans un avenir prochain, ça regarde bien dans son cas. Reste à voir s'il sera en mesure de revenir en fin de semaine" – Martin

"Sergei should be back in the near future; things are looking good. I am not sure if he will be able to play this upcoming week-end but we'll see." – Martin

Btw… today's lines according to Christine Roger from corussports:

Benoît Pouliot - Scott Gomez - Brian Gionta
Michael Cammalleri - Tomas Plekanec - Matt D'Agostini (Darche?)
Travis Moen - Maxim Lapierre - Max Pacioretty
Marc-André Bergeron - Glen Metropolit - Georges Laraque

Andrei Markov - Josh Gorges
Jaroslav Spacek - Roman Hamrlik (Spacek on left? I hope!)
Hall Gill - Ryan O'Byrne

Good.. Mara started strong but has been complete garbage of late.

D'Agostini better make something happen Wednesday if he wants to play when Sergei is back.

Thank God!

I hope SK takes D'Agostini's place in the lineup.

Let's hope that when Sergei comes back it will give the team the same boost that it did 2 years ago! Or maybe Darche will bring a certain energy that might lift this team. Who knows? We need something and it will have to come from someone already on this team. I doubt a trade is in the makings.

Hopefully Pleks can get Sergei going again when he gets back in the lineup.

True but right now we need offence, especially on the top 2 lines which he will most likely take his brother's spot with Camm and Pleks

Sergei is better than D'Ago in every aspect of the game. I even like his arrogance and cockyness more than D'Ago's bewildered look.

Sergei Kostitsyn (soon) and O'Byrne (tonight?) in
D'Agostini (asap!) and Mara (tonight?) out

Those are small steps in the right direction imo!

Shouldn't he be replacing 47? Mara is useful. May not be a breakaway artist and could have done better on the first goal in ny, but a lot of those goals were scored from bergy's gaffs. Bergeron was playing D last game wasn't he? Markov, Gorges, Hammer, Spacek, Mara and as I remember Bergeron unless i'm having a brain cramp.

Sergei was centered by gomez and had laps on the other side then played 3rd/4th line after...

he badly needs a sniper to put up points exactly like gomez that is why he will fit like a puzzle piece on the pleks line...

i am sure you saw him set up and his vision man oh man is his poise, playmaking, passing and decision making crisp for a 21 year old

According to SRC, Sergei was wearing red (forwards of the top2 lines wear red jerseys) during this morning practice. His return is imminent.

Sergei is underachieving big time thus far in 2009/10 but if he can step his game up a notch, his return may help the team.
