Tough break for you guys tonight, I hate playing each other because I want both teams to make the post season, and points to each team are very important. Our teams need to work as 1 here lol.

See ya on the 2nd.

We not only lose but my girlfriend decides it's a great idea to hang out with her stalker all night. I am giving her a massage trying to get her attention and what is she doing? Facebook chatting with him. UGH

I'll defend him somewhat on that first goal, I thought Ellis gave Upshall too much room to shoot at: the far post was wide open, and Upshall tucked it away beautifully. Hammer played that about as well as he could hope to, but Doan made a pass that was as much luck as skill and it ended up right on the tape. On that second one, though, Klein has to put Upshall on his backside before he gets that rebound. Of course, if he was more aggressive, both goals would have likely been prevented.

Bouillon was also way too far up ice on Lombardi's goal, and I have no idea where Legwand was (changing?). They might have been able to stave off that opportunity, but it eventually broke down into a 2-on-1 against Franson, and he didn't have a prayer. Great pass by Doan, as well, and a rare bad decision by Ward to try to clear the puck through the middle of the ice that started the play.

We got production from our scoring forwards (kudos to Erat for burying that awful giveaway by Jovocop), but defensive breakdowns once again killed any chance we had of winning.

At least we get the chance to bounce right back against Colorado. We can't afford a three game losing streak, especially not after the way we were (for all intents and purposes) humiliated by Toronto on home ice.

The team that worked harder and got timely saves won.

But kudos to the team for staying disciplined and not taking one penalty!

I miss Upshall. He might be made of glass and not really what we need, but....he's so pretty.

Nah, it's more like she doesn't realize things sometimes. She takes his advances as "just friendly" In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter, she still rocks

Anyways back to hockey. I got some general observations far ya'll.

1. We outshot the yotes 15-4 the first period. No goals. You have to bury those chances.

2. I thought ellis had an ok game. The first goal was weak, but the rest of the goals were breakaways/ odd man rushes with the exception of...

3. The goal that 4 predators helplessly watched as Upshall buried it. KK HAS to knock the guy down on his rectum. You are taught that from an early age. It was a great play by THE HAIR but at the same time poor effort on Kleins part. Gotta clear the crease!

4. Erat just had to elevate the puck a little in the third period. He had Bryz beat and he just couldn't put it in.

5. Scottie Upshall has more goals this season than any Predator with the exception of Hornqvist.

6. Tootoo was very slow, plenty of rust showing there.

7. Stupid audio feed was just awful tonight.

8. Poile has to make a move to stonewall our defense because right now it isn't doing what it needs to be doing. I would like to see the Preds hold onto Ellis because I think we may need him for a playoff run as a "justincase agent" for Peks. If NHL10 has any relevance in the real world, Peks was out for six weeks a week before the playoffs. Good think I held onto Danny Ellis.

haha

My apologies, just a little rant after a tough loss to swallow.

I really wish we were able to bring Upshall back in at the end of last season. Poile had the trigger pulled but the Yotes made a last minute deal that was just a hair better than ours. Too bad if you ask me.

Notes from 1-21-10:

Nashville lost in regulation for just the 3rd time in the last 15 road games.

The Preds lost for just the 2nd time this season when leading after two periods (16-2-0).

Hornqvist became the 3rd player in franchise history to reach the 20 goal mark in fewer than 50 games (Sullivan in 38 games in '06 and 49 games in '07 and Arnott posted 20 goals in 42 games in '07).

Erat continued his hot pace by scoring a goal -- giving him 20 points in 20 games (12G-8A).

J.P. Dumont missed the contest with the flu, but will be in the lineup tonight.

Hold on! Are you suggesting that Poile may know how to draft scorers?

I dont know what Im saying. It is all so cyclical.

Where those guys not good enough in their time here, where they not good enough because they were buried on the 4th line and expected to shine, yadda yadda yadda, I know we have been over and over it.

It is interested to see these guys putting up those numbers though.

or maybe it was because he was injured EVERY SINGLE YEAR?

His small-ish body can't take the type of game he plays in the NHL. That is why 61 games is the most he has played in in 8 seasons.
