Totally classless not mentioning how the Jackets were one of the exceptional teams he played with.

But good on ya regardless, Peca.

Yes because losing game 4 of the first round of the playoffs is almost as exceptional as losing game 7 of the Cup finals

I was sarcastic in the Around Hockey about Mike, but he really was a good player. Like so many that came through Columbus since our inception, it would have been really great to see him play here in his prime.

I was thinking about this the other day. How many players have ended their NHL career with Columbus?

Loved Peca. Wish him the absolute best. Hope to see him coaching one day.

Bringing the 08-09 avatar out of retirement for a couple days. One of my favorite Jackets. (I thought of him the other day when I watched the Arizona game & saw Kurt Warner. )

I liked the leadership he provided & it seems like we're missing the influence in the room this year.

Interesting quote considering the reported squabbles he had with Hitch:

Quote:
"It's just a case where ever since I was a young kid I wanted to help my team in any way possible," said Peca. "As I got older, I had the mindset that I wanted the coach to tap me on the shoulder regardless of what the situation is; whether it's to go out there to preserve a lead or go out there and help break a tie game.

Vyborny's entire career was with the CBJ.

Just once I want a departing vet to acknowledge how exceptionally bad the Jackets are. He doesn't have to remember us with fondness as long as he remembers us.

Overheard as Peca was sitting in a Buffalo restaurant eating Buffalo Wings: "Man the Columbus Blue Jackets SUCKED! I mean hard-core sucked. Like, if my grandma here suited up she could take them on 1 on 20 and win type sucking. But I did play there."

I think the Jackets would have been better off this year with him in the line-up. Yes I was and still am a Peca fan!!

Is there a difference between retiring and not being signed? If there is then I believe Dineen is the only player to actually retire as a Jacket.

The prior question just asked how many players ended their NHL careers. I don't think retirement was mentioned.

But Novotny is another one.

Is Zherdev being on that list supposed to be a joke?
