with patches demotion, the habs only have 11 forwards on the roster + MAB as the 12th, with only 21 players on the total roster excluding laraque, im guessing another forward will soon be added to replace patches as i dont see martin wanting to play dagostinin on a 4th line, which i dont blame him...
i wonder who will be brought up?
i just hope we dont see obyrne again up front...
Someone is going to have to come up in my opinion as we have two games in two nights in Florida and Tampa Bay. The safe bet says Ryan White gets another call up.
It took more than half the season for JM to figure out what was obvious to many of us here before the season. Pax needs to work on his O skills under Boucher in Hamilton.
Imagine if Pax was to join the Habs now instead of the other way around?
In a non-CBA world, D'Agostini would have been sent down before Pacioretty... It still should do a world of good for Pacioretty's development to spend some time in Hamilton.

He'd be less clear on exactly what he needs to improve on in order to cement his spot in the permanent line up, and would simply be starting from a different brand of scratch (as they say)?
Perhaps this is about 10 games overdue, but I think it was not only a good idea to have him start out with the big club to get familiar with the expectations, but he also deserved the shot coming out of training camp. Now there should be little ambiguity as to what he needs to work on down there, and he should be able to make the adjustments/improvements even more quickly as a result.
Seems to me that MaxPac has lost some confidence.
Looks like he is so worried about making a mistake that he just keeps making very safe plays. He is worried about getting stripped of the puck so he would just dump it into the corner. Most of the time this would lead to the Habs losing possession of the puck.
When he has confidence he would use his speed & size to drive towards the net.
Or to carry the puck deep & start a cycle.
But lately he seems scared to hold on to the puck for longer than 2 seconds.
He makes safe plays that end up being very low percentage plays for maintaining offensive zone pressure.
Hopefully a trip to Hamilton will do him some good.
he doesn't look physically strong enough / ready. he hits but loses 99.9% of the puck battles he's involved in...and his IQ in the offensive zone is just not there yet
Good move by the Habs, I'd like to see him finish the year there and play a top 6 role. In the NHL right now he's just trying to survive...not a good thing for a developing 21 year old. He needs to work on his puck play and confidence.
I can't wait for the kid to work with Boucher and build up some confidence offensively, i'd like to see him also gain some muscle so he can actually hurt people with his hits.
