Three times.

Yeah, that's because you don't have a clue.

Couldn't have picked a worse coach.
I think Torts was trying to keep his cool during the presser....the hockey news said that the white board in the locker room took quite the beating last night...

We didn't have to, he was a RFA. The trade looks better with Higgins in it for us no matter what, he knows how to play hockey, he's just not a good scorer. I'd rather take my chances on Higgins potting 20 than not for a year.

Gaborik: "We need to learn from our mistakes." When are you guys going to learn?! The season is more than halfway over! Last week, Cally said "we just have to drive to the net on a more consistent level if we want to win games." Don't say it, do it! This team does not practice what they preach, enough with the stupid soundbites and excuses.
Avery sounds more like the Captain than the Captain himself. This is how Messier used to speak to the Media. If Avey wasn't so hated thoughout the leauge he would garner alot more respect. He speaks the truth, no sugar coating.

Drury is Slightly more vocal Than Brian Leetch was. I never liked Leetch as Captain either.

NY needs a guy who is going to be vocal & hold his teammates & himself accountable. Lundquist holds himself accountable, but tends to stop short of pointing fingers at indviduals, but you can see it in his face he want's to choke these guys. As a goalie it's hard to start pointing fingers at Forwards & D' Men other to say that they have to score more than one or two goals a night.

It amazes me how Higgins can not buy a friggin goal.

If a goalie starts pointing fingers you risk having the guys in front of you not play hard for you. It isn't exactly the same, but it'd be similar to a QB calling out his lineman. They may respond positively and step their game up, or they might just let a blitzing linebacker walk in untouched and destroy you.

I'd imagine most coaches would be beyond pissed with this group. Part of a coach's job is to get them up for games and get them a little motivated, and on top of all our other problems, it just looks like everyone's kind of "meh" about playing.

Indeed. Which he has failed to do. Breaking the white board should help though.

I wasn't suggesting it would help but at least he's showing some emotion. Can you imagine how frustrating it has to be to be in his shoes? Not only is your roster lacking talent, but it seemingly lacks heart and effort too, at little fault to Torts IMO. Then you have to go explain to the media why you can't make a masterpiece out of a pile of **** and they look at you and don't understand how you can't have all the answers.

Eventually I bet Torts snaps and just blatantly says we're not winning games because we suck and have no heart.

He can't cuss in the post game anymore. Tortorella seems to have trouble being angry without using foul language. I think we saw that yesterday. He tried to be as calm as he can be. So he has no choice but to destroy that poor board.

Did I miss something? Where in this article does it say Tortorella damaged the board?

Don't know. Wasn't even my original point. Ask him...

When you're touting Avery as a captain, your team has got BIG problems.

We suck but that don't mean that we won't win our fair share of hockey games this season.

You would be surprised about how different some our big wins could have been if we had just a few bounces, for example, early in those games.

Its a long season, teams aren't sharpe 82 games per season. If you want to see sharp hockey -- watch the PO's. Then compare a PO game to a dec/jan game and you will see the difference.

So, my point is, we could easily have won against MTL if it wasn't for the refs. With that said, we still are a sheitty team with a idiotic coach.
