I'd swap Gorges and O'Byrne, but I like the rest.

if we can get a shutdown defenseman...this team could go far in the playoffs.

I wonder if Habs fans realize that we have on our roster a player who consistently wins 55% of his faceoffs over a several year period and has some offensive skill?

I wouldn't mind getting a guy like Eric Belanger for the third line if the Wild are out of the playoff race at the deadline, solid at both ends of the ice and is 57% in the faceoff circle.

Cammalleri - Plekanec - A. Kostitsyn
Pouliot - Gomez - Gionta
Moen - Belanger - Lapierre
Darche - Metropolit - S. Kostitsyn

I think Spacek would profit more from being on his natural side than Gill, because Spacek needs to shoot, Gill just shuts down. I like that 3rd line, because with Bergeron and SK, Lappiere can really up his offence, and we need a real banger, either Conboy or sign Neilson to drop 'em, but with O'Byrne establishing himself as a force in the making, we can rely on him to provide some muscle.

Bélanger and Zidlicky from Minny would be perfect IMO.

Ship them O'Byrne, one of our prospects and a 2nd round pick. Should do it since both Bel and Zid are UFA to be.

Markov - Zidlicky
Hamrlik - Gorges
Spacek - Gill/Mara

Bergeron plays 4th line.

i expect to see max pac up for a playoff push. i think for this years playoffs, the experience would be important even if he was on the 4th line. so, max pac in for bergeron for me. darche is still a question mark, maybe someones comes in at the deadline if we are making a push.

I definitely just shed a tear. I understood the organization letting him go and giving him a chance at a cup, over staying here and being part of the mini rebuild...But I would love it if he ever came back!

I go:

1a Cammalleri-Plekanec-Kostitsyn
1b Pouliot-Gomez-Gionta
3 Moen-McClement-Kostitsyn (good defensive forward line)
4 Lapierre-Metropolit-Darche

Markov-Gorges
Gill-O'Byrne
Hamrlik-Spacek

Price/Halak
Desjardins

I'd move Mara (and a pick, 3rd/4th?) for Jay McClement. Or if we can get a solid defenseman in our goalie deal, then we can move Hamrlik for McClement which IMO would be a fair trade (possibly a pick coming our way, but considering Hammer age/salary..), preferably the defenseman would be a replacement for Bergeron as well, and then run this D-Man group

Markov-New Guy/Gorges
Gill-Gorges/New Guy
Spacek-O'Byrne
Mara
Bergeron

If we have Zidlicky, why Bergeron?

Cammalleri - Plekanec - Bernier
Pouliot - Gomez - Gionta
Kostitsyn - Belanger - Kostitsyn
Moen - Lapierre - Neilson

Markov - O'Byrne
Hamrlik - Spacek / Subban
Gill - Gorges

Price
Desjardins

We would finally have 2 big bodies on the top 2 lines in Pouliot and Bernier, a 3rd line with both defensive and offensive skills and a bigger mean 4th line.

switch up bernier with andrei
bernier is more of a 3rd liner
andrei is a waste on the 3rd line and has showed great chemistry with cammy and pleks on the 1st

and why is everyone so insistent on us getting belanger, i dont see him being THAT much of an upgrade over metro or lapierre
