Where Do You Think Ziggy Will End Up?

As much as I hate to think it, he's done in LA - where do you think he will end up once the lockout is over?

Detroit or Toronto. Maybe a darkorse team that will pay him big bucks to play with some young kids, Atlanta maybe? I seriously doubt it, but hey, you never know. He could end up just staying in Europe.

Atlanta needs a center much more than a RW. Maybe they'd make a run at Demitra.

I'm guessing he goes to Philly if they can dump LeClaire and Amonte's contracts.

Philly supposedly is going to go with the youth and would look at Jeff Carter and Mike Richards (and possibly R.J. Umberger as well) as players to step in place of Roenick, LeClair, Amonte once they are gone.

Well their not going to be re-building to the point of missing out on the playoffs.

Who said anything about rebuilding? From what I've read... Clarke wants Keith Primeau to lead the team, and Simon Gagne moves up to the top LW spot. They already let Mark Recchi walk, and unless they find someone to take Amonte, LeClair or Roenick off their hands... Clarke is probably just going to keep those three until their contracts expire. There have also been rumblings that Clarke was considering a buy-out of LeClair's contract. With Roenick out of the picture and Primeau as the #1 C, Handzus can fill in the 2nd line center spot, or they could look into Carter or Richards.

I don't see what the Flyers plan on doing as "rebuilding." They are looking into giving some young guys an opportunity to succeed. Kind of like what the Edmonton Oilers of the 80's did... or the Quebec Nordiques in the 90's... or the Ottawa Senators... etc. You never know how good your prospects are or will be until you put them in a position to succeed... and that is the philosophy the Kings are following.

The Flyers have the pieces set to be a successful team in the present and the future. They have a solid foundation in place, they have their goalie in Esche and the defenseman to build around in Pitkanen (not to mention Kim Johnsson and Danny Markov who aren't that old either). As much as Bob Clarke is critisized, him and his scouts have done a good job at keeping the team competitive and stockpiling a solid group of prospects. Every other season they have a promising youngster making the roster. Simon Gagne... Justin Williams... Joni Pitkanen... Dennis Seidenberg... Antero Niitymaakii, etc, etc.
I think the Kings are getting there now with Frolov, Gleason, Brown, Cammalleri, Grebeshkov, etc.

Don't hold your breath.

The Flyers are having a youth movement. They're not rebuilding.

No one was giving Palffy what he was asking, it got to the point where he came back to the Kings and they said he would take their final offer and the Kings said no, with a lockout his won't get paid much more than $4-5 million.

I think a Team like Detroit or Colorado. In financial terms LA made him the best Offer I don't think that any otherTeam would made him a better. So he wan't to play for a Cup contender. mabye for less Money.

Actually, I agree, I don't think anyone will offer him more money than us and as much as he wants to go to a cup contender, I highly doubt he would go for less money. He wanted to be on the east coast, getting payed a lot of money, and being on a contender. I don't see anyone on the east coast having more money to spend on him and since he regreted not taking our initial offer he's going to come back for less.

How about those quotes in that Slovak or Czech paper that said he was done in l.A., and didn't want to play here anymore?

I don't buy into that because I think he knows that he's not going to get the offer he wants anywhere else...
