Renfre shaft saver

http://www.hockeymonkey.com/renfrew-...aver-wrap.html

Does this stuff work at all? i recently played a game and the team was a bunch of lumberjacks. every lose puck they would just slash on your shaft and take a penalty the message i guess didnt get to them that its not ok to keep doing that. but during the game i noticed my stick has a crack along the outside part of the shaft right where i flex at for slapshots. its a new pro stock bauer90 used it three times. i wanna know if this or any other product can help keep the stick around longer or help fix it.

It looks like a gimmick to me.

If it's very thick, it *might* act as a cushion to absorb the impact from a slash... but even then, I doubt it would be very effective.

Not to mention adding enough weight to negate the $200 stick pricetag and going with a cheaper composite that is actually durable enough not to need this stuff.
