Pyorala on Blueline at practice

Feel free to move this if need be.

I was just informed that Pyorala has been skating as a defenseman at practice today.

I likey! Kapanen v2.0!

Being a defensive minded forward, I could see him doing well back there. He didn't play bad when getting ice time....just couldn't finish. This could be a very good move whilst Parent is out of the line up.

So who's the nostradamus up in here? Apparently Mika's not too small.

When did Hitchcock get fired by Columbus and re-hired here?

Guess they need the bodies for practice.

Good to hear. Does he actually have any sort of experience as a d-man?

Either way, he's an improvement over OKT.

He seemed like he knew where he was supposed to be when he was on the ice, but he just couldn't finish. I'm interested to see how this turns out. I think it's worth a try in a game.

If he can keep his head on a swivel and not get destroyed/injured every other game like a certain Norwegian defenseman of ours, I'm open to anything!

In all fairness, from all accounts I've heard, Pyorala is like the Mike Richards of the SEL, granted without the physicality.

Point being, he's supposed to be very good defensively. We've seen glimmers of that already, but he hasn't been given enough ice-time for us to notice.

Hopefully he'll be alright.

That, or he's tired of nearly having a panic-attack when Tollefsen tries to get the puck out of the zone.

What's your point?

The only thing I see wrong with that would be his weight.

His height well see Kimmo.

I hope he gets a chance to play D in a game. I always find it really entertaining when someone plays out of position. It wouldn't surprise me if Mika was half decent at it too.

He made a team of players who didnt care and played with no system, into a team that matched up against the Pens and beat/got close to winning against good teams. He has brought a system here and it is working well.

If thats crazyness I'll take that **** anytime.

If another defensemen is hurt and it is not just to give someone a break for practice they need to call someone up. There is absolutly no reason to waste a roster spot on Pyorala.

If he starts shutting **** down in practice, I would love it if they gave him a shot in a game. Syvret is gonna be back soon right?

A Finn capable of playing every position? Shocking!
