Welcome aboard... I just joined recently as well...this is the best Rangers board going...people here have a great way of not agreeing with each other and not making it personal...very rare thing on the net.

Guerin and Goligoski are out.
Laugh all you want, but Rupp had a hat trick the last time we played Pittsburgh.

You can play four pylons beside Crosby and Malkin and we'll still lose

Christensen went from being possibly waived to playing on the first line to being a healthy scratch in just 6 weeks as a Ranger. He played with Gaborik and Dubinsky. When Prospal returned,Christensen was demoted and now scratched.

The Pens are - 115 (at the Hilton) all the way to -125 at Stations.

The Rangers are + 105 across the board.

O/U at 5 and a half pucks.

My point was why not leave a line together that was clicking and move Vinny down to spread out the scoring, whatever little we have, and try to get another line going, especially since that top line was playing well and Prospal was coming off of an injury and had not skated for a few weeks, I love Vinny but why is he tied to the first line but everyone else gets moved around constantly?

And also, why not scratch Christensen against Philly so at least Brash would have been around to try and do something instead of scratching him tonight against a team where we need all the potential scoring we can get?

Brash was injured for the flyers game.

He was nursing a punch from the last fight he had.

Honestly, do you think brash is a threat to anyone?

He was hurt 5-6 days ago but isn't now so he can be inserted in the lineup to do exactly what? Fight Godard or Cooke, great job he did last time when Anisimov had his head taken off.

I never said he was a threat to anyone but I just happen to think that if you are gonna scratch a playmaker/scorer type for a fighter that it should be done against a team known as "The Broad Street Bullies" and not the Pens who actually score goals that is all. We've been shutout the last 2 and 4 out of 6, is Brash gonna help that now? Do you honestly think having both Brash and Voros play is better than Voros and either Christ or Kotalik?

I never said brash should be brought back.

If anything he should never be played again, not even against the flyers. Again, he's no threat to anybody.

Well, I was just responding to the question you posed to me, my problem was with the use of personnel based on roles as a player not on whether he is actually a threat to anyone

Whatever Brashear had is gone. I'm no fan of the guy, but I gotta believe that he's hurt, and maybe in more ways than one.

He can't fight anymore and I find it hard to believe it's because he doesn't have the cajones.

I think has a hurt shoulder/hand(s)/ribs and who knows what else.

another ablatross, because if can't intimidate opponents, what does he bring?

Which is why i don't understand scratching offensive minded players in favor of him against a team that puts pucks in the net

Because Pittsburgh has a couple of guys who can hit and can fight and that's more than the toilet paper Rangers can say.
Tortorella is trying to avoid another embarrassment like the Flyers game.
Whether or not it will make a difference, who knows.
Probably not.

By that logic he should have dressed him for the Flyers game then unless you believe he was hurt then but magically isn't now. At this point Voros is more of a threat than he is judging by what Brash has shown so far and if you don't agree then just scratch Voros instead of having them both against a team that scores more than they fight

Maybe the Flyers game was kind of a wake up call.
I have no idea to be honest, he obviously should have been in the lineup that game.
Voros isn't in the same weight class as a guy like Godard, maybe it's as simple as having a player to counter him if things get out of control (like if he's trying to go after Gaborik).

Christensen is back to being invisible. He was having a very good run with Dubi and gabby but the genius coach we have is forced to break up lines because he is bored and since the change he has fallen off big time.

That's cool and I can see the reasoning in it, even if Brash is washed up at this point but like I said I would just scratch Voros again, I just don't think we need both tonight. Against Philly yes, against Pitt not so much

I really like Torts. The only reason he broke that line up though was to put his boy Vinny there who I also really like, I just disagree with the decision, but what do I know, I just watch hockey, I don't coach it lol

Agreed. He's pretty much useless, although I like his energy and enthusiasm.

Against the Penguins on National TV??

Rangers don't stand a chance, expect brutal officiating.

Might be one time I am glad I don't have VS.

Seriously though, the Pens on national tv again? twice in three days? gimmie a break, I so hate this team and this league.

The guy is all heart, can't fault him there. I actually like him in this lineup lately, he doesn't seem as awkward or off balance as he used to when he was constantly on his ass or stumbling around although he did take some penalties against Montreal that hurt
