Nashville (29-19-3) has dominated Columbus (20-25-9) over the years, going 22-2-2 against its Central Division rival since 2006-07. That includes four victories this season, with David Legwand and Martin Erat contributing two goals and two assists apiece

If we lose this one I will single handedly take down all AT&T cell service in the mid-state area until we complete a 5 game winning streak.

I was glad to see the GDT already. The threads on the official Preds forum are always started midday and don't get a lot of posts.

I have high hopes for tomorrow night. We're coming off of three losses, the guys had 4 days to recuperate, and it's Columbus. We just have to win against Columbus. No pressure, boys.

Met a guy, thought we were feeling one another, and he disappeared on me today. I need a W to mend my broken heart. Damn men.

Oh and in the world of our dear Dan Ellis, he puked in Arnott's lap during the flight. That darn Dan Ellis, what are we going to do with him?

I'm not sure if it was this particular flight, but assume it was a recent one. Call me insensitive but someone would have gotten clocked.

In Dan's defense, its kinda hard to see the invisible man, he just thought it was an empty seat.

AW SNAP!

I love Elly's tweets. The man has such a good sense of humor.

Last week was a really crappy week for me and us losing all three games was certainly a contributor. This week has started out much better and could only be topped off with a couple wins.

Yeah, today's tweets between Sullivan and Ellis occurred pre-flight. I'm assuming that Ellis puked during the Father's trip on the flight from Phoenix to Colorado.

Dan had tweeted after that flight something like it was the bumpest ride he had ever been on and that he was just happy to be back on the ground. If you remember, they were under a tornado watch that night and had warning up all around Phoenix...

I agree this is the way to get out of the slump. The 2 games in Columbus this year have been polar opposites with the exception of the W. I really would like to see the Preds come out in the 1st period and control things like the first matchup. If they come out flat again I may pull my hair out tonight. I will be there looking for the road sweep.

And when Arnott tried to push him aside, it wasn't strong enough to actually move Danny.

The Preds are responsible for beating the Jackets in our tanking conquest.

I just want to let you guys know good luck, we're all counting on you.

and also, I'll be in Nashville this weekend to visit Belmont. Hoping to go to school there next year .

Can they do it? Can the Preds keep the streak alive?

Arnott's game made me sick too.

Ludi - come on down, Belmont is an excellent school and Nashville is an awesome place to live. You will be sold when you visit.

nah, we dont like to try scoring goals until we fall behind by at least 2 or until the 3rd period rolls around, whichever happens first

My sister frequents in Nashville and said I would love it. Did some research of schools there and Belmont seems like a great fit based on what I'm looking for (music business), so I just hope I can transfer in. Excited to visit this weekend.

notes from the other night:

Franson scored his first career PP goal and Spaling played a career high 14:34. Preds were assessed a season high 28 penalty minutes and were short-handed a total of 9 times (most since Nov 29, 2008 at Min -- 11).

For tonight's game:

Nashville has won 5 straight against Columbus dating back to April 4, 2009. Three of the five wins come via shootout, while another in OT. Nashville has gone 37-8-5 since 2001-2002 and 22-2-2 since '06-07 against the Jackets. The Preds are 9-2-2 in their last 12 visits to Ohio's capital city.

Sullivan has 43 points (16G-27A) in 40 games against Columbus while Arnott has 36 points (16G-20A) in 37 games against the Jackets.

In seven career appearances, Dan Ellis has given up just 10 goals on 224 shots for a 1.47 GAA, a .955 SV%, 2 SO, and a 5-1-1 record.

Tonight is the 6th of 7 road games for the Preds in a 19-day span between January 11-29. The Preds have scored 62 ES goals on the road, 2nd only to Washington. The Preds are averaging 2.92 goals per away game, the fourth-highest average in the NHL. Also, the club is a +12 on the road, 3rd best mark in the league.

The Predators between Dec 4-29, outscored its opposition 3.85 to 3.31. In the 11 games since then, the Preds have outscored its foes by an average of 2.45 to 2.27. Twenty-five of Nashville's 29 wins have come by two goals or less, second only to NJ for most in that situation.

Preds are 28-7-3 when scoring more than 1 goal, 19-3-1 when scoring first (3rd best mark in NHL), and 16-1-0 when leading after one period (2nd best mark in NHL).

Erat has scored 12 of his 16 goals on the road while only 2 of his 13 assists have come on the road. His 18.6 shooting percentage ranks in the NHL's top 10.

Both Weber (102) and Bouillon (106) have surpassed the century mark in hits, making Nashville just one of three Western Conference teams (and 7 in the NHL), with two-or-more blueliners with 100-or-more hits. Klein is just 1 blocked shot away from 100 (top 20 in the NHL).
