Plus, we're in complete disarray. We have no idea from one week to the next if Rogie Vachon or Phil Myre is our #1 goalie (even though there is a gawky guy on the Voyageurs who is burning up the AHL). Imagine - we had Tony Esposito on our roster and let him go!!!!! Now, our most talented defenceman is out for the season (again) with his SECOND broken leg in two years. Our two top centremen are 39 and 35 years old.

Forget Mahovlich, and by the way, Pollock has to go!
I lol'd !

Very doable and would go far IMO in the playoffs ..
that would be awesome

Metropolit instead of Neilson/Bergeron

edit:Get Kariya too

Kariya-Koivu-Selanne

Path #1 Sellers

To New Jersey: Tomas Plekanec
To Montreal: 1st round pick and Adam Henrique

To Vancouver: Roman Hamrlik and a 6th round pick
To Montreal: Steve Bernier and a 3rd round pick

To Washington: Marc-Andre Bergeron
To Montreal: 3rd round pick and conditional pick

--------------------------------------------------

Cammalleri - Henrique - A.Kostitsyn
Pouliot - Gomez - Gionta
S.Kostitsyn - Metropolit - Bernier
Darche - Lapierre - Moen

Markov - O'Byrne
Spacek - Subban
Gill - Gorges

Price
Halak

--------------------------------------------

Or the Buyers Standpoit #2

to Minnesota: 3rd round pick and Matt D'Agostini
to Montreal: Eric Belanger

to Philly: Max PACIORETTY
to Montreal: Scott Hartnell

-----------------------------------------

Cammalleri - Plekanec - A.Kostitsyn
Pouliot - Gomez - Gionta
Hartnell - Metropolit - S.Kostitsyn
Bergeron - Belanger - Moen/Darche
so many problems with this post
1st off why replace plekanec with some one even smaller (Henrique is 5'10) and what are we gonna do with NJ's 26-30 pick, also we got enough centers, maxwell, white, pyatt list goes on
2nd off Vancouver doesnt really need another veteran dman, theyre already looking to move Bieksa
MAB will not get us a 3rd let alone a conditional, considering no one even signed him

and for buyers belanger is not that much of an upgrade over metro/lapierre
and already given up on pacioretty rlly!!

I really like Spacek on left and I must admit that Bergeron looked surprisingly good on D (after Mara's injury) against NJ during the 3rd period but I would definitely keep Gill in the line-up. Gill, imo, is a very solid (and huge!) 3rd pairing D.

(1) Moen looked good with Gomez and Pouliot against NJ and NYR, (2) I doubt they will be using Maxwell on wings, (3) Martin is slowly realising that speedy and big Lapierre usually responds well to increased responsibilities and (4) Bergeron is our best points producer on the PP (http://www.nhl.com/ice/playerstats.h...iewName=points)... in fact, he ranks 14th in the league!

So, while waiting for Andrei Kostitsyn...

Cammalleri - Plekanec – Gionta
Pouliot - Gomez - Moen
S. Kostitysn (*1) - Metropolit - Lapierre
Darche - Maxwell – Bergeron

Markov - O'Byrne
Hamrlik - Spacek
Gill - Gorges
(Bergeron, Mara)

Halak
Price

(*1) If S. Kostitsyn does not step his game up a notch, Darche can replace him on 3rd.

With Andrei...

Pouliot - Gomez - Gionta
Cammalleri - Plekanec – A. Kostitsyn
Moen - Lapierre – S. Kostitsysn
Darche - Metropolit – Bergeron

Markov - O'Byrne
Hamrlik - Spacek
Gill - Gorges
(Bergeron, Mara)

Halak
Price

Regarding "potential trade" and with a healthy line-up in mind, I wish for a big tough and experienced right-handed D to play alongside Markov. The package would include one of the following D (Gorges, Mara or Gill) + (Halak or Price) + (a mid range draft pick or D'Agostini). I like O'Byrne a lot but I am not sure if he is ready to assume first pairing duties yet.

Its not exactly as i would have drawn it up either, but at least all 4 lines can skate and score.

The Flyers look like a good fit with Blair Betts. He's an excellent PK guy, pretty decent on the faceoff circle, and was brought in cheap on a one-year contract.

The Flyers lost Ryan Parent until mid-March and were already thin on their third pairing. Who knows, Mara might interest them?

With the current players this should be the line-up:

Pouliot-Gomez-Gionta
Cammalleri-Plekanec-Darche
Lapierre-Maxwell-S.Kost
Bergeron-Metropolit-Moen
That's a line-up with 3 offensive lines. If we're able to swap Souray for Spacek, Bergeron becomes expandable leaving room for White or a trade for more grit on the 4th line.

I agree with this, almost to a tee. I don't get what the deal is with Moen on a scoring line. Regardless of points he's gotten more than sergei and darche, we need physicality on the bottom lines to tire out the opponents, so that when our speedy scoring lines come on they're not as prepared. Darche skates faster than Moen and actually has a little finesse in his game. He made really nice, smart little passes in these first 3 games, showing the kind of offensive awareness that Moen lacks. Nothing against Moen, but why put him in a spot that he's not comfortable with?

So bad that I smiled!

There's not enough sandpaper on your top two lines. That team will get creamed in the playoffs like every year. We need someone with scoring and size on the 3rd line (20 goals min/season) that can jump up on the top two lines if we need a shakeup. Sergei isn't that guy.

Then what do you do when Chara or Pronger play 25-30 minutes a game? They won't play when the 3rd and 4th liners are out there. Their teammates can handle those guys.

I think I like Roy33Clutch and Horatio Caine's judgement better.
