akost because he has been inconsistent and might make a good line playing with his brother on the third line.

I'm not saying Halak will get that return, but he will still have good value in the summer unless he falls on his face.
Kessel is a scoring forward, a 22yrs old player who had a lot of suitors from day one.

Not a whole lot of teams are looking for a goalie these days. Halak is a first-class acquisition for a team like Edmonton or Dallas, but if he's not available at TD, they're just going to go somewhere else and get Harding/Schneider/etc... The market for goalies favors buyers, and this is why Gainey has to play his cards well and deal one of our goalies as quickly as possible. Halak's value isn't going to go any higher than this trade deadline.

King Carey takes over tomorrow night and we go on a 6 game win streak. Book it.

The problem with playing that type game is your goalie has to make the big saves(vokoun did in the 3rd) and you have to score on your chances(they did).

Florida's goal was to try and win 1-0 or 2-1 and JM's style plays right into that.

This is exceedingly puzzling because Martin is known for efficient breakouts based on short passes. There is so much about Martin's reputation that is turning out to be the opposite of what he does with the Habs.

We are in bad need of a physical shut down D to play in that lineup. A guy that can hit, score and move the puck. Phaneuf? I know he has his defensive short comings, but put him beside Markov and I think he can thrive.

Yep. Florida's goal is to win 2-1 and JM's system is designed to lose 2-1.

Either win it all or lose it all, but let's get the hell out of noman's land (9th-10th in the conference). I'll go postal if we finish 9th.

I think we need mobility at D first.

For those saying Halak was shaky, you're all pretty dumb.

Hamrlik put one in, and the other one was a perfect top corner shot on a penalty shot. He kept the team in the game the entire match. Not like he yielded first. So not sure what you're talking about.

Also, this team is bad and Martin is worse. If there's one thing that pisses me off is to watch small offensive players play an ultra conservative boring defensive game against a team completely depleted of any offensive talent.

Man are you serious? AKost has as many points in his last 13 games than Mueller has this whole season.

I have a serious problem with Moen in a Top-6 role. I can't believe there's no better option in Mtl or Hamilton... OK as a stop-gap measure or to stir things up for a couple of shifts, but a regular spot?

Yeah put Darche on that line. He's been very consistent this season

Have you realize that Pleks line hasn't been the same since AK's injury?

Harding and Schneider are unproven in terms of carrying any kind of heavy workload. Plus Schneider would only be traded for a big name player, Vancouver has no reason to trade him for say a late 1st or early 2nd rounder, he gives them a cheap back up next year.

Halak's situation is similar to Mike Smith who got Dallas Brad Richards.

Painful PGT.

No need to put the blame on anyone. The Panthers are as good as we are and played a good game. The Habs is an average team getting average results.

Honestly, the goaltending isn't the problem. Even the Price haters need to admit that. The REST OF THE TEAM is at fault.

Today, the top 6 were invisible, especially at even strength. Those midgets can't win any board battles and it showed. The bottom 6 were the best today. Our defense is slow and old, and turn-over prone. It looks like the "system" isn't working at all.

The ONLY WAY we win games is if either Price and/or Halak steal the game. It's sad.

No argument here. When I heard him say that I yelled "SALARY CAP SAYS HELLO!"

I don't think he liked that too much, because all I got was a "Ta yeule!"
