INSANE ahl game providence vs. lowell

was anyone there?
67 shots for lowel, which i think i spelled wrong...
Hilbert with the hattrick, bergeron 4 assists.
Nobody on lowel got more than 2 points outside of commodore...
Insane game, with a shutout to finish it.
I wish i could have been there.

yeah I was there -- terrible terrible defense

not many quality shots in comparison to the shot totals

3 lame fights, lowell dominated the game

ha ha

Bergeron at times clearly looked like he does not belong in the "A" (being too good) but he was bothered at some points in the game by Zigomanis and that through him off.

Hilbert was decent, Martin Samuelsson was OK (soft goal he scored) hitting wise. Overall the Baby B's defense was horrid, and so was Rudkowsky even though he made 59 saves. Not having seen the B's all season, I was amazed at how small their team is

We have a great offense, but our defense is inconsistent. Juricina, the towering guy no. 18, is great. Other than that dallman is a boom or bust player, brent thompson is a life long ahler, as is much of the other people on our defensive core.

Bergeron is really developing offensively. Hilbert has been great, from what i've heard lately. If you ever see the b's again this season, can you brief me on them? Cause that would just be great.

hilbert was 'decent' and had a hat trick...that's not bad

as for being small, colton orr wasn't dressed, and we're hoping to see andrew alberts and possibly 1 or 2 bigger players (either NCAA or more likely, major junior guys) brought in for the stretch run. and anything will be an improvement on those pylons we've got on the D

Yeah I honestly didnt see it, but I think Thompson might have either been KO'd on one punch or hurt a knee or something because didnt last more than 2 seconds.

Hilbert I honestly thought was just OK -- was obvioulsy in the right spots to get the goals but did no work to actually achieve the goals other than move his stick -- all three were great feeds from PB, Aucoin and Guite

Jurcina besides crushing someone once was just -- didnt contribute anything but considering it was just "a" game and the rest of the defense was pathetic, I'll keep an open mind. The one that was strange to me was Cam Ward getting yanked (didnt look hurt and I havent looked it up) after letting Samuelsson tie at 2-2 early in the 2nd. If Ward had stayed in the game, he would have gotten Lowell the win IMO, Krahn was horrid as well

Yeah, Commodore laid out Thompson with one solid punch to the jaw. He must've been seeing stars for the remainder of the first period. Thompson did come back to play in the 2nd and 3rd, however (not that it did the team any good, although he deserves props for having so much heart that he refused to leave the bench after Commodore drilled him).

Jurcina made some great passes... to the Lock Monsters players... a lot of P-Bruins had their hearts set on setting up guys with great feeds... too bad so many of them were to the OTHER team!!

When Colin Forbes has a multiple points night, you know there's something magical in the air...

Come on, Booger will never be more than 'decent'

Being too good for the "A" is pretty high praise for a 19 year old, but i guess you could be right considering he went bantam aaa, midget aaa, q and the show in 4 years...

Forbes is tied for 14th in AHL scoring. He's right up there with Kobasew and Staal. Perhaps you might be better off mocking his NHL abilities than his AHL abilities, since he appears to be a very good player at that level.

He is?
Wow! I didn't know that.
After checking again, he has 214 points in 278 AHL games. Not too bad for someone who got 61 points in 302 NHL games.

having only seen in that one time in the "A" that would be my perception -- and in a direct one game comparison he was better than Staal, but Staal looks to have frightening upside: I was amazed at how big he is

It's fair to characterize Thompson as an AHLer now, but he did break in with the Kings when Gretzky was still in his prime. Nothing AHL about that.
Dallman does seem to play to the extremes, a little Berard-esque in that regard.
Considering Mike O'Connell's surprising tolerance for slowness on the blueline, Jurcina is going to get all the opportunity to prove he belongs in the bigs.

Prov @ Lowell

Thoroughly entertaining game. However, both teams deserved to lose this one because of the abhorent defense. IMO if Toivo's in net P-Bruins would have killed them.
