O'Byrne vs Voros

Voros had a bit of blood over his eyes.

I'd say it's pretty even, but I'd give it to Voros since O'bryne left his visor on.

Really good play on O'bryne's part to step in and protect Markov.

Might be one of Voros's first fight wins.

How's that a win for Voros, come on... He got dropped to his knees with a hay maker at 0:40 and he did not connect a single time it seems

It's kind of funny there's a thread about Carcillo attacking Gaborik and Ranger fans up in arms including Don Cherry but you have Voros trying to start crap with Markov, he even high stuck him last week. Nice that O'Byrne gave Voros a message about touching our best player.

Looked like a win for O'Byrne, albeit a close fight. Voros had a good start but barely landed a punch after that. The hit at :40 and when Voros was against the glass kind of made my decision.

I understand some people thinking Voros won, though, as I said close fight.

Either way, O'Byrne starting the fight was awesome "Who the **** do you think you're touching?" Nice that the habs finally have somebody who will drop the gloves without asking nicely first

...Voros would have been completely destroyed without his helmet.
And the best punch was given by OByrne, regardless of helm/visor.

Very impressed by O'byrne on that play. He isn't a fighter in the least bit and was willing to go with another big guy.

Wow, first Malone, then Asham, and now O'byrne.... Tough week for Voros.

Edge to O'Byrne since he knocked Voros to his knee with a shot to the face, but other than that it was a pretty even scrap.

granted he was always a terribly bad fighter, this season you can certainly see improvement. check out his past fights youll see he seems to be catching on with the punching and standing

I wouldn't say "destroyed" but Voros probably would have won if OB didn't have a helmet/visor.
But OB got a nice haymaker in.

OB had so many chances to throw in some lefts when he was grabbin the jersey.

nah dude, most of the fight, ob had no helmet, let alone having a visor. I'll agree with whoever said that the fight was more or less even without that big haymaker by o'byrne. Without that, it's a draw.

Hard to pick a winner in a fight like this, and most would give it to OB if they had to.

While I'd normally agree with you about visors, O'Byrne had to quickly back up to get out of Voros reach at the start of the fight before he even dropped his gloves. I can't fault him for not immediately taking off his visor. If it was a "staged' fight than yeah take it off but when it happens that fast I don't blame them for leaving it on. Not to mention O'Byrne lands some of his best shots after his helmets been removed.

I think Voros going after Markov had more to do with Markov and Gaboriks exchange of words a few seconds earlier. I can almost gurantee Torterela (sp?) tore a strip into that whole team for not defending Gaborik in the Carcillo fight. I don't think it mattered if it was one of our small skilled players or a 4th line goon going after Gaborik someone was going to step in.
