prospal is exactly the player a team like phoenix should look at. hes cheap, hes a ufa and hes a proven scoring veteran who can play along side some of their kids. he would look nice slotted into that phoenix top 9.

mueller for prospal makes a ton of sense really. it works for both teams. maloney may want more than just vinny but a guy like prospal could really help phoenix get to the playoffs and beyond. there could be the basis for a solid deal here that really helps both clubs.

anyone not willing to part with vinny is still stuck on belieiving this team has any chance to do anything other than squeek into the playoffs and then get swept.

i would prefer to move him while he has value and build for the future.

So basically you want to package a crap contract with a pretty good but not anything special player and a depth prospect for high draft picks?

Please tell me teams that you see as being able to pull these off.

Prospal is really the only trade possibility.

Ugh, Ponikarovsky. You just know Sather's friend Burke will give him first shot, and this will be Nik Antropov part deux.

In a perfect world i'd love to deal Redden for Visnovsky. I think that only works if the Oil also deal Souray and take back little salary.

Prospals possible trade destination - Boston, Phoenix, Detroit.

I doubt Prospal gets dealt, unless they're totally out of it.

No way EDM takes Redden for Visnovsky unless we give them something to make it worth their while, which I don't think I'm willing to do.

How about Redden and Rozsival for Visnovsky and Souray?

ive reached critical mass with this team.

im not for tanking but i am for moving contracts. its time to move these guys out. some of our guys can still be dealt under the "will play better with a different team" theory.

teams looking to better themselves by adding players to fill specific needs will be interested in rozy, higgins, prospal, girardi and maybe even dreary.

this season is done. this group is disfunctional. lets regroup, move out what we can, play some more kids the rest of the way, have a solid draft, get to july and see what happens and come back fresh next year.

im officially on the SELL BANDWAGON.

Just a question, where do you think this team would be right now if Cherepanov was alive and they had drafted one of Parise/Brown/Getzlaf/Richards/Perry in the 1st round in 2003?

If I was Don Maloney, I'd make that trade. You have no idea how imperative it is to get this team into the playoffs this year. No so sure Sather would though. My guess is that what might be more likely is something for now (Higgins) and something for later (Sauer, Byers, mid round draft pick, who knows?) for Mueller. Maloney could sell that as part of the continuing rebuild. Maloney loves Sauer and Byers.

This. But as I've said before, I don't think Cherepanov was going to be a superstar. I saw him as a solid second line, 60-70 point, forward. Still something this team could really use, but I never saw him as a franchise player.

I didnt, i saw him as more of a 75-85 point player.

Which is like Eric Staal territory.

3) Higgins, Brasheer and Doyle for a second rounder.
Who is going to want to those deals?? Who the hell would want brashear? Even when Brashear was younger he wasnt some that teams at the deadline would look to add. Now hes older, banged up, and has a ****** contract.

And who is going to want Rosie AND prospal? Thats a lot of salary to take on even if half of it will already be paid. And why are we dealing Kundratek already??

Even just 70 points puts you in the top 30-40 forwards for scoring, which means its 1st line production.

He couldn't conquer space on the ice the way Staal can. Staal, when he wants to be, is a freight train.

I think he was just comparing potential production. Otherwise Eric Staal to Cherepanov is simply an awful comparison.

Ponikarovsky is actually a good player but thing is he's more of a 3rd line PK guy that can add a little offense to boot. Leafs will want a 2nd for him but I would offer a 3rd tops.

I do think Meuller makes sense and the more the Yotes are in the playoffs the more a deal for Higgins and a pick will make sense to them

Yah. Wasnt Cherepanov supposed to be an opportunistic scorer, like an Alex Semin type? Not a dynamic player but one who knew where to be with a decent skill set.

Can someone explain to me the appeal for Mueller? He seems like he has a lot of flaws in his game (his skating, his defense, his effort, his lack of physicality and production) and besides a good rookie year and some potential he doesn't look that attractive. 3 goals in 44 games doesn't make me want to pick up the phone and offer much of anything. Sounds like Lisin with less success this season.

Even with his horrible season this year he is over .5 PPG for his career at the age of 21.
