As it stands, 1 point separates us in 6th and the Isles in 13th. We've got about 3 or 4 games in hand on some of them so we're not quite in the mire but that's pretty crazily logjammed.
Makes the loser point even more stupid really. Tampa would be about 8 points out without rather than 1 and we'd be 6 clear of Florida rather than level.

I know its not the point of that "loser" point, but it makes the standings close. Thats a good thing. Im glad that teams like the Isles and Tampa have a chance. It keeps things interesting and makes the sport grow a lot faster. Good teams wont be in a position to lose. We lost 12 of 18, or whatever it was, to get down here. Not like we have been playing are ***** off and we can say 'WTF why are we so close to the lowly Lightening'.
Rangers are bad. Its amazing they won as many games as they did.
people think Tortorella should be fired too.
Of course do the Dolans have the balls to fire Sather.
That is not a well constructed team.
They have 2 guys with more then 30 points. Dubinsky did miss some time but other then that lots of question marks and underachieving players.
I hope the Habs trade Halak so they will lose the rest of their games. I have Price on my fantasy team and it really doesn't seem like he's won them a game in quite a while. That'll clear some room in the standings logjam

Directly from the Habs PGT:

3rd time in 14 games the team in front of Price gets shutout.
How can the kid win if the team in front of him cant score a freaking goal.
Look at his last 11 regulations loss. Team scored:
0 Tampa Bay
2 Ottawa
2 Washington
0 Buffalo
1 Minnessota
1 New Jersey
2 Pittsburgh
0 Toronto
1 Pittsburgh
0 Nashville
1 Tampa Bay
Thats 10 goals scored in 11 games. How the **** can the kid win? Im not trying to defend him but he need to be the best goalie in the world to win those game. He needs to have the GAA under 0.90 in order to win those game.
I've been paying attention to the Habs this year and they've sucked in front of him. Almost every time. In fact, that whole team sucks outside of Price and Halak. They're literally the only people who can keep them in games (at least most of the time). I'm not saying that they don't have any note-worthy players at forward or defense (they do), but as a unit they suck. Badly.
Regardless of who's in net that team will have a hard time winning. We'd be better off if they traded Price most likely. At least in the long-term.

Plus I don't find Torts a good coach at all. The guy is such an *******, who in their mind would want to play under him.
Correction: All they have are Gaborik and Lundqvist. If you look at it from a "what have you done for me lately" stance, all they have is Lundqvist. Gaborik hasn't had a point in his last four games and outside of the occasional offensive outburst (like his 4 point night againt TB), he's cooled off a lot lately. If you go to the Rags board they'll tell you themselves that Gaborik just seems like he has nothing left in the tank. Maybe it's because he has no supporting cast or maybe it's because he's not used to playing full seasons due to his previous injuries. Who knows?
The Rags remind me of the Habs, except that the Habs have plenty of skill at forward. Both teams rely on their above average to great goaltending to keep them in games most of the time. The biggest thing holding Montreal back though is their coach I believe.

Damn right. The guy is incredible. I know the Ragdolls lost again last night, but again, King Henrik made some amazing saves (he ****ed up with the 2nd goal but nvm). He's just an outstanding goalie playing on the wrong team.
Nothing to take away from Emery but imagine our team with Lundqvist in net. We'd rock the Conference, I am pretty sure.

I've said this so many times to my Rangers friends. I think Lundqvist is a top 3-5 goalie in the NHL easily. If he was on basically any other team they would be immediate Cup contenders. Put him on any other playoff team and watch out.

The best was when the Debbies-Rags fans got into a shouting match in the Carcillo-Gaborik fight thread on the main boards, and some Rags fan was arguing with them that Henrik is better than Brodeur. Now don't get me wrong, Henrik is a hell of a goalie, but that guy is smoking crack.

Totally agree. Lundqvist is great and probably a top-5 goalie in this league as DrinkFightFlyers stated. But Brodeur is .... well Brodeur. You don't mess with the best.

They can be really happy to have him. He is rock solid for them, day in day out. Another one who impresses me very much is Ryan Miller. The guy just took it to another level this season. Should be a great Olympics for the US-Team.

I've liked Miller ever since the Amp energy commercial. Have to admit, I had no idea who he was until I looked him up hahaha.
Nine teams battling for 4 spots. BUF, PIT, NJ and WSH are locks, the Leafs and Canes are done. Everything else is up for grabs . . . and Hartnell should kick himself in the head for blowing that empty net and then ATL comes down and scores late. Gotta be opportunistic!
i think there should be 3 points for a regulation win. if it goes to overtime both teams get a point and the winner gets the 3rd. thered be more pressure to win in the 3rd period because the other team is stealing a point. now if its tied you see both teams just trying not to lose.
and i hate the 4on4 overtime. they should play another full period sudden death and if its still tied then do the shootout. if your not gonna play real 5 on 5 hockey just go directly to the shootout imo
