Speculate on the next callup (Update: Weber Called Up)

With Spacek out, who are we calling up? A D-man or a forward? I'm assuming a forward, someone to replace Bergeron, so... White again? We're not really going to only bring 19 guys to Ottawa are we?

Well now RDS is saying a d-man apparently. We'll see.

According to RDS, Spacek is out with an upper body injury. He won't travel with the team in Ottawa.

Source: http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/291671.html

Gainey knows his job is on the line and if we factor in the Canadiens' opponents, before the Olympic break:

OTTAWA
VANCOUVER
BOSTON (2X)
PITTSBURGH
WASHINGTON
PHILADELPHIA (2X)

(ouch!)

... I hope they will recall the best available D: right handed, 6' 206 pnds 20 years old PK Subban.

Markov – O'Byrne
Hamrlik - Subban
Gill – Gorges

This is the WORST time to recall Subban. Leave the kid in the AHL for the time being.

I hope it's Ryan White, I love his physical play.

I hear ya.

However... apparently (a poster in here heard it on the radio 1-2 week(s) ago; I can't find the link), Boucher mentioned that he was expecting Subban to see some NHL action… this season.

Gainey is not in a position of force, playoffs are still within reach and with Mara and Spacek out, they need the best available D imo.

I really dont see the problem with bringing up Subban. You cant ruin a guy unless you bring him up for too long. So don't. When Spacek gets healthy again, just send Subban down. Its not rocket science.

Put Bergeron on D and call up a forward. That's it !

Carle is so unlucky it's not even funny.

If we really need a 6th D I would say Weber. He has NHL experience and it would be interesting how his defensive game has improved.

I have been on the keep PK in hamilton wagon all year long..But I would not be surprised to see him get the call this time.

1)Subban
2)Weber
3)Belle

Keep Bergeron on D and call up Trotter, the kid deserves a game.

Subban would be awesome, but I hope Martin won't stiffle his offensive instincts like he does for everybody else...

If not Subban, wouldn't mind either Weber or Belle.
