Did anybody see the play where Pickles got hurt in the 1st? I missed that period (fortunately).
It's hard to find anything major, no blocked shot or hit or anything look obvious to hurt him. I'm not even sure what it was and I was at the game!
Overall it was a good game, sloppy start and sloppy end, but this is the Sharks without their best defenseman and without another top 4 defenseman after the first period. Considering all that they did well.
The Demers breakout with Big Joe was awesome, they both turned on the freakin JETS. God I hope Demers pans out. Also, somebody get that kid a skate sharpener.

I don't understand the hype around Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook. Keith let Pavelski skate right into the crease to score the Sharks' 1st goal. Later in the game, Jason Demers faked him out of his jock. In the 3rd Marleau walked right through Seabrook. I just don't see why they get so much credit. It's nothing like watching Pronger.
P.S. I am speaking in Defensive terms, Keith is solid offensively. Seabrook is meh.

Both of them have been inconsistent of late. Their entire d-core has been ever since that Minnesota game when they coughed up that huge lead. That said, it's not really a good idea to make judgements on players based on watching them for one game. If I did that I'd say how I don't get why the entire Sharks team gets as much credit as it does. (Clearly they get that credit for a reason, just had an inconsistent game last night...my point exactly.)
You also only are pointing out the couple mistakes they made. Especially in the case of Keith, Brouwer's first goal was all started because Keith stepped up at the red line and poke checked the puck away to Toews, who then transitioned and fed it to Brouwer who went in and scored. That all starts because Keith made a very fine, head's up, quick-moving defensive play. On another play later in the game when Seabrook got deked out it was Keith who cut across behind him and cut the play off. Without him that guy would've been in all alone. And again in the third late he was the only guy back on a 2-on-1 and dove and broke up the pass. He had a crappy 2nd period but other than that Keith did a lot of good things last night on the defensive end in addition to a couple miscues. Seabrook was average last night and has been of late, but you need to watch teams on a regular basis to really know what kind of players they have. One game's a pretty small sample size.

It's not based on one game, but I don't watch the Blackhawks as much as a Chicago fan. I'm not saying they aren't both solid defensemen. It's just my opinion. I can see why you thought I was only using one game though.

Cause you only sighted examples from that game. I thought the same thing.
I've watched a fair amount of Hawks and either of those guys and Keith would challenge Boyle for the #1 spot (only person in the league who could at this point imo), and Seabrook would be our clear #2.
Could you imagine Boyle and Keith on the same D? yikes.

Yeah, because Keith would never let something like this happen to him twice:
To be fair, those aren't really Pronger's fault. He forced Kane wide and behind the net. His teammates aren't doing great, particularly Carle on the second one, he's making out with the goalie or the post or something.

Kane just passed by him easy on the first one - unacceptable for a physical shutdown dman (he could've easily went towards the goalie but went behind the net). On the second one, he got outskated and let Kane make a pass.
Pronger and especially Niedermayer are not the same dmen anymore. Team Canada could be in trouble in that regard.
I can agree with you regarding Seabrook because I believe Keith makes him look good; but you cannot deny Keith's clutchiness. Especially this season - him and Doughty are beasts defensively, and offensively as well.
