At this point I'd actually like to see this team continue losing until someone (coaching or management) actually grows a big enough pair to make some kind of change.

Absurd...Tootoo with the turnover, Hamhuis fails to tie up the man heading to the net, juicy rebound, Atlanta ties the game 3-3...

Didn't we have success last night breaking up the D pairings??? WHY PUT THEM BACK TOGETHER!!!

Hamhuis and Klein have to be split up. This is the worst coaching decision, I believe, Trotz has ever consistently made. I thought the Suter/Zidlicky pairing was bad, but this is just bad bad bad bad.

I'd think I'd inform Jason Arnott that the C will be stripped from him and offer to make the attempt to trade him if he chooses.

Then I'd trade Arnott, Hamhuis, O'Reilly, Dan Ellis and potentially other prospects other than Wilson, Blum, Ellis, and Pickard for a forward with a killer instinct offensively and a veteran defenseman.

Then I'd call Wilson up.

I CANNOT believe that:

this game is this close

that our vets are this invisible

that our special teams are this pathetic

that Klein and Hamhuis are still together

that Sully spent the last 10 minutes of the period on the back blueline waiting for a stretch breakout pass instead of being up ice involved in the play

Admittedly, I've never been in favor of making a run at Kovulchuk previously thinking that he didn't really fit in. Hossa was by far the superstar that made the most sense.

Now? If any combination of my prior post would make it happen, and he would sign long term, and we can make it work financially- I'd do it.

What he'd bring in terms of offense and moxie so desperately is needed by this team that his defensive flaws could either be tolerated or compensated for.

Arnott is not getting moved...who would take him? He is playing injured and really suffering because of it, but it doesn't help that Sully is playing to stay healthy for his next contract because that totally makes the line ineffective...

Hamhuis definitely has to be traded, I think Poile has probably already contacted him and they are discussing contract terms and that might be distracting him, but whatever it is...he is not giving us the contract year type of performance I thought he would give us...

Wilson needs to get called up immediately to replace O'Reilly. Cal has been ineffective in his latest recall and simply doesn't fit in right now...

Bottom line right now is that we're in serious trouble heading into the third period because we are skating on the second half of a back-to-back and Atlanta was sitting around the hotel last night in Nashville watching us struggle to lose against Detroit...now having blown 2 two-goal leads, Atlanta has all the momentum and we're trying to play on empty tanks...

It is going to be a long and I anticipate high-scoring third period...

I think Dumont/Sullivan are underachieving more than Arnott.

And as I type this ARnott scores.

I'd still strip of the C. A big change must occur to this team and I'd start there. Actually I'd split Klein and Hamhuis, but since that apparently isn't going to happen, I'd change the C.

I'm sure Trotz said something to the effect ... IF you don't play like you care ... you will sit next game ... while looking at Arnott of course

The sad thing that a win would probably give everyone a false sense of security. If they win it's only because they are playing a team that isn't as good as the teams that Nashville that they will have to beat to stay in the playoffs.

Playing not to lose right now...

Great shift by Erat there, carrying the puck deep to allow a full line change, then grabbing the loose puck and slinging it out front to Leggy for the quick shot...

Interesting that Trotz put Klein with Bouillon at this juncture.
