Any word on if any of the broadcasters are going to show this? Score, Sportsnet? I don't know if TSN will show it, I think they have curling or something on. lol Who the heck watches curling? I couldn't.

It's been mentioned on The Score but they have soccer on. It will be on www.tsn.ca immediately and possibly on TheFan590 online.
I think Halak's agent is loving the Hiller contract...
Except Halak is a RFA and Hiller was a UFA... That being said though, I think Halak is currently the superior goalie and he's younger... so going forward, Halak will be even more valuable.

pretty much what i thought when i saw the numbers.. his career so far is very similar to Halak's. That being said I think they overpaid for him a bit, it's not like he has proven much yet.
Everyone worrying about Halak needs to take a step back; Hiller is a UFA, that makes a world of difference in negotiating power. We may not get a long term deal on Halak but he doesn't have too much bargaining power, no way he gets 4+ million. Not a chance in hell.

I foresee a deal with 2.5-3M per for 1 or 2 years, for Halak... if he is still here.
If we do deal him and another team wants to go with him long term, the numbers will obviously be different. Something in Hiller's area wouldn't be out of the question, IMO.
Darren Dreger is reporting major shake-up to happening today in Toronto.
I 10000% concur.
This is connected to the major deal I was working on yesterday. I am told the following...
*there are multiple moves being made by the Leafs
*Based on a ton of info, Giguere will be a Leaf today (e4-5)
*Brian Burke wants to move out more salary so that he can pick up another team's salary cap issue. A UFA that a team needs to move to make room for Kovalchuk.
Also Montreal has a deal in place that could go down today.
Boston as well.
Welcome to the trade deadline 2010 hockey world!
Updated...The Maple Leafs are working multiple deals, have scheduled an 11:30 press conference and will announce at least one deal (likely Giguere) but hope to have more done by then...
Updated Leaf info 10:49 At least one deal will be announced at press conference. a second deal could be. that deal looks like it is with the LA Kings

That' why Halak will have zero motivation to stay here...He can just ask for a trade to a team where he'll be the #1 guy, sign his RFA deal for 1 year, have a big season and sign a fat contract in 2011.
