Burke has like next to no picks, so it has to be players on the move. Wonder what Burke pulled out of his hat?

There was a lot of talk that Burke was shopping his cap space. I.e. he'll take a contract you need to move, but wanted picks coming back his way as well. I'm dying to know the details of this deal because it feels like it has to be part of something larger (Calgary freeing up space to go after Vinny? Three team deal?). Could be wrong, but Dion to Toronto on it's own (regardless of the return) doesn't seem right to me at the moment. We'll see.

Dominos falling for a Kovy move? Perhaps Vinny? Or Law just wildly speculating on a once boring Sunday morning?

Im just guessing.....and know NOTHING.....but I would not be surprised if Komisarek is going to the Flames, and somebody else is going to go to the Ducks for Gigi. ESPN is reporting that Burk is getting him from the Ducks.

I also think the Leafs are unloading Kaberle, and perhaps Kessel—though I could be wrong.

Not much in the way of what is going back on either deal.

Its very very interesting though.

It is being reported by Toronto media that the Ducks included their FIRST ROUND PICK to the Leafs for Toskala????

If it is Giggi and the first for Toskala—I think the Ducks just got *****. There has to be more going back to the Ducks—Unless....did Mike Milbury become the Ducks GM?

Salary Cap Era. That move just saved the Ducks $6M against next year's cap.

Jesus Christ Leafs just robbed Calgary. And Giggy is a money goalie, if they can put a nice run together watch out.

I remember a Flames fan coming on here a year ago and saying how they wouldn't even discuss Phaneuf unless Okposo was in the deal.

Wow! How the mighty have fallen!

On the surface—I have to agree—UNLESS—the Flames are up to something else.

Like what? The took on more salary then gave up. And I'd have to imagine Phaneuf has a lot moe value then what they acquired. Dumb, dumb, panic move. Sutter has done a very, very bad job in Calgary. Remember when we wanted this uy to be our GM?

He has doe nothing toimprove that team, if anything, they've regressed under his watch.

It makes you wonder...good trades can happen when the other team is desperate.

Not in the same league as what Snow did last year—but think about it....Campoli and Comrie to the Sens and we got a first round pick back....

Burke held onto his youth. I think the Flames are a desperate team and it shows.

That is not to say Waddell is giving Kovy to the Isles for Park, Tambellini, Comeau and Bergenheim...so lets not get crazy....but teams get desperate is my point, and do stupid things. I think the Flames got fried!

I guess this shows that Phaneuf's value really has dropped, Stajan and Hagman are nice players and White is a decent d-man and Mayers is pretty much like Jackman for us. It's a great trade for Leafs as they got the best player but i can also see the case for the Flames as they got much more scoring depth and they can slot J-Bo as the #1 D-man now there.

Love the Phaneuf move for Toronto. The guy was a monster just 9 months ago.

Giguere will sh** the bed up there. That's a bad move IMO.

Wadell is currently teh worst GM in the league in my eyes, so I would not put a stupid deal past him.

Hope Burke is confident he can attract some UFAs in June. That team has no scoring and it just got a lot worse! But, the D could be the best in the league.
