Me too. I was rooting for a five game losing streak before the Phoenix game. One down, four to go.
I cant bring myself to ever "root" for a loss or a losing streak, but it certainly would be in the Rangers best interest to keep on losing. Squeezing into the 8th spot and then getting swept would just allow for Sather to keep his job and Dolan another excuse to raise ticket prices.
If Orr wanted to stay put he should have taken league minimum for one year.
Instead he took a nice 4 year contract worth a million per. Any 4th line enforcer would jump on that type of contract.
Point taken Fly...I don't fault him for taking the bigger payday. But my personal opinion is the right move would have been re-upping the contract before it was over. I am pretty certain he would have stayed if the Olive Branch was extended. And even if it was a little higher than the 500k or whatever he was getting paid. I think he would have taken the deal at 800k or so...But again that wasn't even offered. But this is all a mute point, what's done is done and nobody can change that.
