Getting the "Stick-um" off a Bauer stick?

Hey all,

I love my Bauer One90, and I was able to get a spare one off ebay for very very cheap. However it's a stick-um stick, which I discovered I kinda loathe.

If I sandpaper the stick-um off is it going to hurt the stick in anyway?

No, it just seems to be a thin coating. I've used Brillo pads before and it helped.

Ive heard that you can spray paint the stick as well, if you're unconcerned about cosmetics that is...

I have used sandpaper before and it works like a charm.

The Stick 'Um coating adds significant weight in "feel" so it would be wise to just sand it off.

Have you tried to use it and make a very very minor adjustment yet? I got my first sticky stick and only the first 2 shifts were weird. Now it makes no difference to me.
