Yeah the 4th line is messed up, Langkow and Lundmark would switch.

When all is healthy...

Hagman - Jokinen - Iginla
Dawes - Langkow - Bourque
Glenncross - Stajan - Moss
Nystrom - Boyd - Mayers/McG/Prust

*Lundmark and Backlund get sent down

Gio-Bouwmeester
Regehr-White
Pardy-Sarich

*With the D in these lines, which pairing becomes our shutdown tandem? Or how do we change the parings to create a good shutdown line? I would probably say Regehr-Bouwmeester.

We have fill our top line LW position, addressed FO issues (without touching Lanks) and brought in an extra 3 R shots on D and forward that I have always been a strong believer in having them.

Boyd-Stajan-Iginla
Hagman-Jokinen-Bourque
Glencross-Langkow-Dawes
Nystrom-Conroy-Moss

Lundmark/Backlund set down, Mayers/Prust/McG all rotate in

White-Bouwmeester
Regehr-Sarich
Giordano-Pardy

Kiprusoff
McElhinney

This team is A LOT better today than it was yesterday, but Jesus does it suck to give up Dion.

Sarich and Regehr! The Ministers of Defense will be back together! I'm thinking Regehr's play improves with Sarich next to him.

Also, while I think it's unlikely, Backlund just might stick. I sure hope he does.

Don't ask me why, but they just blend nicely, and make things happen on the ice.
So I'd very much like to see them playing on the same line too.

When I said this in another thread, I got dissed by a Czech guy...
"How the hell could they help each other?!"

It would be weird if Hagman was aquired and not tried to reignite his bud Olli

Stajan as #1 center?.....well........whatever. But keep in mind there is some reason why toronto performed that poorly.

Just want to say congratulations guys. You're team just improved (huge imo) while Toronto's took a serious offensive hit. You just got 3 good - great players and your D still looks very very good even though phaneuf is gone (white is an excellent d man).
As far as line combos go, you should have a lot more options now which is always a good thing. Hagman should fit great with Jokinen.
I'm looking forward to seeing how you guys do now with the new pieces. I think the trade may have been just what the doctor ordered.

Thanks for that, I was starting to second guess Sutter... out of a "too good to be true" state of mind

The more I look at this deal, the more I start to like it (though I still think we could have gotten more). There is one major question though when trying to figure out our line combinations: can Boyd and Backlund be consistent? Obviously I don't expect the output from last night every game but can this line create scoring opportunities on a consistent basis?

If it's a yes, then I really don't know how it will look like. We have more offensive depth than we know what to do with.

Boyd - Backlund - Iginla
Dawes - Langkow - Bourque
Hagman - Jokinen - Moss
Glencross - Stajan - Nystrom

Ex: Conroy, Prust, McGrattan, Mayers

Regehr - Sarich
Bouwmeester - Giordano
White - Pardy
Ex: Johnson

Kiprusoff
McElhinney

If it's a no, then it's a lot easier to figure out what to do.

Hagman - Jokinen - Iginla
Dawes - Langkow - Bourque
Boyd - Stajan - Moss
Nystrom - Conroy - Mayers

Ex: Prust, McGrattan
Callups: Backlund, Lundmark

Regehr - Sarich
Bouwmeester - Giordano
White - Pardy
Ex: Johnson

Kiprusoff
McElhinney

Tomorro I'd like to see:

Boyd-Backlund-Iggy-Have to keep that line together after their big game.
Hagman-Jokinen-Lundmark-I guess Hagman and Jokinen have chemistry so give them a try
Stajan-Langkow-Bourque-Stajan taking the draws.
Prust-Nystrom-Mayers-Should be a good energy line.

Will be very interesting to see what is done when the 3 are healthy. Backlund and Lundmark will be sent down, but who else is moving?

Forward lines once healthy:
Hagman - Jokinen - Iginla
Glencross - Stajan - Bourque
Dawes - Langkow - Moss
Nystrom - Conroy - Boyd
(McGratton, Mayers, Prust)
Backlund and Lundmark back to AHL, back for injures and playoffs.

How's that look?

I like. Notice how Conroy, although he is an outstanding person and leader is not on these lines. I for one wonder what his role will be. Either way I hope he stays involved with the team in the future. I think Sutter is not done at all.... cattying 5 lines, trade some for picks.

The Flames will be fine. You have in White a great player who is as someone else posted a possible Gio II. That is a young mobile D for the msot part. Sarich and Regehr are tough as nails as is Pardy. Bouwmeester, Giordano and White can move the puck. I am liking this team more and more. Obviously thye jury is out, but I like how Sutter traded bedfore the deadline so the team can develop chemistry. If tweaking is needed he can make a final move then.

i have no clue what our forward lines are going to look like. moss, dawes and conroy are on the IR, then we have hagman, stajan and mayers who can all play a role. further, we have lundmark and backlund who have been somewhat effective, although both of them are probably heading down to the ahl.

when healthy, i would like to see something like this

boyd-stajan-iginla
bourque-langkow-dawes
hagman-jokinen-glencross
nystrom-prust-mcgratton
mayers/conroy/moss

bouwmeester-giordano
white-regehr
pardy-sarich
johnson

kipper
mce

there are definitely more moves on the way.

edit: the one thing i really like about our new offense is that it's very balanced with scoring coming from 3 lines. im not sold on ian white yet, ive heard some really great things about him from some leaf fans but i need to watch him play first hand tmr.
