on their shorty-don't forget sullivan trying to fancy hand it down the half board, turning it over and franson being by himself on that play.

on the third goal, once tootoo had the easy safe clear up the boards, both hamhuis and klein made a stride to the bench for a change. problem was, once tootoo made that pathetic clear attempt, both were caught dead to rites. case of the forwards screwing the d there. not to absolve all blame form them, as they should have made sure it was a good clear.

One of the Thrasher 400 here...

Thanks to everyone that helped with weather advisories...our buses went over to Birmingham and up so the trip took an extra couple of hours. We left Atlanta at noon, got up there at 6:15 Eastern, then got home at 6 AM Sunday morn.

The Nashville crowd was great except for the one or two bad examples that unfortunately happen to populate every city. The "beer fool" chucked a full cup and threw his popcorn box and some of it even hit a Predator family sitting among us, including a little boy and girl. One Atlanta kid got his Flag ripped by another couple of knuckleheads, but overall, it was a great night (except the scoreboard in my humble opinion

It's very cool how everyone joins in the different chants in Nashville. There was some great marketing when the team first got to town and it's carried on through the years. Wish our ownership had better than 10% on the "Give-a-crap" meter!

We really appreciated your hospitality and we all wish the NHL would move ya'll to the Eastern conference so we could create a fun rivalry like we have with Carolina.

The fans in Carolina come down all the time to Atl. and party at our tailgate and our fans typically send 150 - 250 up there to do the same. It would be cool to do the same with Nashy fans and create another chance to show the NHL how the SOUTH DOES HOCKEY!

I'll finish with an invite for all Nashville fans to take a couple of days off around March 7 and join us in Atlanta for the rematch! We'd love the chance to show the same positive atmosphere that we enjoyed on our trip north!

Good luck and hope you guys win the West!

I was sitting right above you guys, and watched the whole thing evolve. The very FIRST thing thrown was by a Thrashers fan at the two kids that were taunting the Thrashers fans behind them(sitting down near the front of 103) miming mooning them, etc. They threw an empty water bottle at them, but missed. Nearly immediately after, the Thrashers fan in the blue hat, who had already made his presence known by cheering "f you" during our chants and given the finger to everyone around him, threw his popcorn, which prompted two guys in the 200 section to throw something at him. Some Predator fan yelled something at him, he yelled back, a lot of posturing "do something" talk took place, and then he spat on the Preds guy, who then tried to get up the stairs before being held back. At that point, security got involved, and escorted the Thrashers fan out. The Preds fan had already been pulled out before then.

Overall, it's great to see a big group of fans make the trip. Columbus fans did a similar trip last season, and the result was about the same. They were loud, had fun--which I'm all in favor of. Both groups had one idiot though, and in both cases, that idiot got himself thrown out of the game.

There was a lot of spontaneous hugging and high-fiving in my section when Arnott scored.

Now, who actually heard what was announced about the parking situation? I know something was said, but between the chatter and the way sound seems to bounce away from the section I sit in I didn't catch it.

to barrytrotzsneck:

I am in total agreement that all jerks who decide that using a sporting event to get totally ripped and turn themselves into walking feces ought to be tossed from an arena, no matter what laundry they are wearing! Like I said at the start, every city has to claim some, I didn't see the onset of the idiot parade, only the results as it flew over our seats.

Unfortunately, I doubt the 14 yr. old kid was stupid drunk when he had his flag ripped as a couple of guys tried to get it on the way back to the bus, just as the Pred kids you spoke of, none of them should have been taunted, especially by older people.

But again, it shouldn't be the major reflection on all the people that were at the game to cheer their teams and have some honest good-natured sports ribbing.

The fans that we spoke with, before the arena opened, during warm-ups, during the game, and after were all great. We'll be back up there with more numbers in the future because it was a good time.

I enjoyed have the Thrasher fans in our building. (1) Didn't hurt the paid butts in seats total. (2) I was far enough away not to have witnessed the stupid so I enjoyed the atmosphere it created.

Chucky, glad you guys made it up in droves last night and glad you all made it home safe and sound. It does suck that a few rotten apples ruin a lot of fun for everyone else. You guys were organized with your chants and love for your team. Glad to have you here and welcome you guys back anytime. I may come down for the game in March and drag my brother with me as he lives in Marietta. Gotta see if the work schedule and finances allow it but hope to see you guys at Phillips in March.

I'm sure if you guys had a small group (or large) you can call the Thrashers offices and get a great price for downstairs seats. Tix here aren't in great demand right now.

We should really band together as fans and support each other's teams because I think we share the same worries with attendance and Canadian media bias!

It would be sooo cool I think, to have a weekend when Nashville fans come down here for a game between Atlanta and a Canadian team wearing Nash gear and holding signs for "Hockey Southern Style" then, Atlanta fans can return the favor by traveling back up there in Thrash gear with the same signage pulling for the Preds vs. Canada!

It's like pulling for SEC in a bowl game but hating your opponent during regular season, lol.

Chucky, I think that would be pretty awesome. I went to Atlanta in November to see the Pens vs. Thrashers game (sorry, Pens fan!) but I do have to say that all the Atlanta fans were extremely nice and hospitable. It made the experience that much more pleasant. I think you're right -- southern hockey needs more support. If I had more money, I'd travel down there for games more often. I can, however, support the Thrashers from here!

As for the incident of things being thrown, that really is a shame. Whoever started it was being extremely immature. Everyone is there to support their team and show some pride but being violent is completely unnecessary. Ripping a kid's flag is just embarrassing.

You could stay right in the CNN center at the OMNI hotel. It's in the same complex as the arena, shops and eating areas. The World of Coca-Cola, Centennial Olympic Park, and the Aquarium are also all within walking distance. The Westin is within walking distance of the Arena and right down in the same area.

I know there are tons of other great hotels right in the area, you should stick a post on the Thrasher page asking for advice on Atlanta hotels, you will get tons better advice than I can give since I am not totally familiar with everything down there!

good luck and Happy Anniversary early!

LOL, no lives were damaged in the mayhem caused by some goobers in both camps, so let's not worry anymore...

I'm definitely going to raise the "HOCKEY SOUTHERN STYLE" issue with our fanclub. Do the Preds have an official fanclub that we could hook into? I will personally head this adventure up if we could get even 50 diehards from each city to play along. Could you imagine if it got onto PuckDaddy?

Not that I'm aware of. There used to be the Predators Pride Booster Club, but I have no idea what happened to them...

It was brought up on Twitter last night too. I'd be interested to know what has to happen for the club to be either restarted or a new group formed...

Hi all! I am the Thrashers Fan Club President. We had a great time coming to Nashville yesterday. We had over 400 fans all over the arena last night and had a great time.

We would love for you guys to come to Atlanta. If you get a group together or you just need tickets to the game while in Atlanta go to our website www.atlantathrashersfans.org and send me a message on the contact us page. I will hook you up with our ticket rep to get you tickets.

Chucky17 Hockey Southern Style is kinda catchy. Let's talk.

Great win. Just to get back that winning feeling!

Great start, lots of jump, second period lull, third strong. Smithson's goal was sweet! Welcome back Joel Ward! Pekka with some HUGE saves at just the right time to preserve the lead.

The 5-on-3 was beyond horrible. Just stood around. Either they had no idea what they were doing or they were so intent on making one perfect play that they screwed themselves all up. A guy that sits behind me said it best one night, we have to be the most polite team in the league, we show everyone what we are going to do before we do it.

The first PK was terrible. All 4 Preds just stood there and let atl pass to a man that was in the middle of those 4 all alone, without even being touched as he shot.

Unfortunately, some Nashville area 'fans' have a habit of this. As a Steelers fan, I have seen/had this happen by titan fans (but on a different level) and we weren't even playing the Titans.

Also unfortunate is that BTN's account of the events was absolutely correct. That guy was flipping everyone off all night long.

Starting the first week of February (uh, Monday) all city owned parking lots in the new convention center construction area will be closed. I'm pretty sure they included the lot behind the arena. So starting Tuesday, anyone that parks back there will have to find a new place to park. You might check the Preds site, they may have links to other parking lot maps.

My friend used to do something with the fan club (or booster club or whatever it is) a few years ago, I'll ask her what happened to it.

I would like to start a new one though, or get that one going again. It would b e great to connect to other fans in that way!

Be sure to let us know! If you guys just get a network of fans together (like the 303) who are interested in a group effort, either get over to the Atlanta board or PM me.

The closest thing we have to a network of fans would be posters on the mainboards/these boards. I know a lot of them meet up near the glass during every pre-game skate. When I can actually make it to games (which will be a lot more often now) I try to go down there, too.

(This, of course, excludes the cellblock.)

Maybe CodeyH can comment on this, but...I think the reintroduction of the Booster Club would focus on having more events (monthly meetings, trips, supporting radio shows, etc) to promote Predators spirit on a day-to-day basis whereas groups like the Cell Block do a great job inside the arena setting a tone and leading the way...

Maybe I'm totally off base here, but I see it as a way for greater participation and an avenue to expand the causal fan into more of a die-hard through participation in various activities, rather than hitting the folks mainly at the arena...

I was never in the booster club but one of my best friends used to participate pretty heavily in it. I made Vern Fiddler a kick ass scrapbook during the 07-08 season because they didn't have enough people for all the players and to my knowledge that was the last year they actually held meetings for it.

I wouldn't mind being involved if they tried bringing it back but work and life sometimes get in the way of things.
