hmm...
If that is the case then I will take Stajan back instead of Ollie lol

I love how Sather makes all of these moves because he is forced to, as a result of his terrible deals and signings in the first place.

Its like a ****ing see-saw.

OK so there are several credible sources who are contradicting eachother now.
TSN says it's Calgary.... Sportscentre, NY Post says it's Kotalik who is holding it all up.

You would think that all of the info would be out there in the open by now...

What pieces does Calgary have to get Kovalchuk?

McKenzie

on Leafs Lunch just said Kotalik initially held it up, but not now. Now, Calgary is holding it up for unknown reason. Jokkinen and Prust on the ice for Calgary morning skate.

Now they are ripping Sather apart for giving Kotalik 3 for 3, plus NTC.

Still places like TSN and Sportscentre are pretty well connected, and it's been a while now since this all leaked.

So if it's true that Calgary wants to use Ranger pieces to try to get Kovalchuk, why don't the Rangers hold on to those players and try to get him?

possibly because some of the other pieces the rangers have and want to move (redden, rozsival) don't fit into the thrashers plans both from a hockey standpoint and a financial standpoint

this is killing my work productivity. nhl live are now running with the brooks nypost story that it's kotalik holding it up- though ej hradek seemed a bit incredulous at it.

wonder who brooksy's "well placed sources" are....

I'm not "guna" blame all of it on Kote-McGoats, but I'm damn well not going to give him a free pass for signing a large contract and thinking he doesnt have to live up to it. Kotalik is slightly over priced and that NMC is killer, but hes a lot closer to his value than Drury, and hes not even NEAR his actual value (of about 2 mil) playwise this year.

This BS about BLAME SATHER, NOT THE PLAYER is complete ********. I hate and blame Sather for the overall picture and look of this team. I hate the players for thinking they can waltz in here, get paid and act like lazy idiots who can collect a paycheck and not go out and compete. I refuse to think as multimillionaire players as "victims" of Sathers stupidity. You sign the contract? Guess what, the fans expect you to live up to it.

I don't know, I would hate it if "nothing" happened. But Slats could do better then OJ. He is better then what we got, and gives us a clean slate after this season...

...but it wouldn't hurt if we got someone who could help us after this season too.

im not trying to portray kotalik as a victim here. i definitely dont think his tenure here was good at all. but if that clause is in his contract its his right to use it if he sees fit. theres nothing wrong with that at all

I don't like Brooks. The Rangers need better beat reporters. Definitely missing Dellapina....

Bob McKenzie said it was initially Kotalik holding it up but not anymore. It's Calgary.

I wasted the entire day today.

And the same freaking thing basically happened with the fav SEL team last night (the transfer deadline was midnight 31th January).

They gave notice to a underperforming vet on Saturday that they would break his contract. Then all day yesterday there were rumors that they would replace him with all kind of great players. Then 15 minutes past midnight they released a memo that the team would stay the same...
