This BS about BLAME SATHER, NOT THE PLAYER is complete ********. I hate and blame Sather for the overall picture and look of this team. I hate the players for thinking they can waltz in here, get paid and act like lazy idiots who can collect a paycheck and not go out and compete. I refuse to think as multimillionaire players as "victims" of Sathers stupidity. You sign the contract? Guess what, the fans expect you to live up to it.
What about management living up to a contract?

Kotalik signed a 3 year dealing stating that he could not be traded to 3 teams, Calgary being one of them, and now they're trying to trade him to Calgary.

I honestly dont know where this Kovalchuk parallel is coming from.

I dont see him being involved in this issue at all.

The thing is, all of this stuff about whether or not Kotalik waived his clause is speculation based on leaks to begin with.

When you see a player like Kotalik being singled out, and scratched nigh tin and nigh tout, get sent home from a road trip, you'd think he wants out, no matter what. The guy still wants to play. Now, if hes going to turn around and use his NTC to spite the team because he doesn't want to play there, fine, yeah, thats Sathers fault, but I can still get mad at the player for acting like a child. If youre a pro, you want to play. He's still getting his 3 mil per.

Of course all of this is speculation (whos to blame for holding it up, and my post) so take it with a grain of salt.

LOL.

I want to hear Francessa pronounce his name later. But, he won't even acknowledge that hockey is, in fact, played in the Empire State.

How is this any different from waiving him and burying him? People advocate that all the time.

Mike normally pronounces names fine. It was Russo that butchered everyone's name.

Francessa pays attention to only post season hockey.

I am thinking they are putting a deal together for Kovalchuk. Atlanta wants a cheap young defenseman with some upside so Calgary brings in White. If they couldnt get him they would have accepted Gilroy but with the trade with Toronto they have no need. I think Higgins may be part of that deal as well along with a player like Boyd and their 1st '10

White + Higgins + Boyd + 1st '10

I think it's pretty obvious. Calgary can't score, it's been reported that Wadell likes higgins and if he addition of higgins is what's holding up the deal it means that it's likely that they are trying to put a package together for him. I mean that's just what I'm inferring anyways

I think it was 2009 or 2010 and Phoenix decided to wait until this year.

This makes sense to me. As much as we'd like to think Sather is some kind of mind manipulator and master of sweet deals, there is no way Sutter doesn't know how poorly Ales has been for us. If Calgary needs Higgins as part of putting together a package for Atlanta, they're not going to give him to them without a little something for the Rangers. Which in this case looks like them taking Ales off their hands. In the meantime to make it work salary wise the Rangers take back an underachiever they wanted gone anyway which can only benefit them since his contract burns up this season.

I don't see how that isn't a plausible scenario for anyone doubting Kovalchuk's involvement. It definitely adds up to me.

Edit: Or Richards or Vinny L. for that matter.

From Gross' Twitter: "Good source says Matt Gilroy never a consideration in proposed #NYRangers-#Flames deal, at least from Rangers' end."

Ok my source up in Buffalo has told me that Kovy is gone to the Flames and Kotalik is heading down to Atlanta. That was the hold up. Boyd is included in the deal with a 2011 first?

He hasn't been wrong yet.

So the Rangers deal is contingent on the Flames dealing for Kovalchuk? At least we know that Kovy will definitely be a FA at the end of the season. I can't see him signing there long-term.

Woah, really hope that is true. Where in Buffalo is your source? I will go meet up with him.

Yup, thats what I'm hearing.

Kotalik needed to give his approval for the move to Atlanta.

He actually lives in Rochester but works out of Buffalo. ;-)
