Patrick Marleau Facts

Did a quick check and didn't see this posted yet... it's a good laugh

http://www.battleofcali.com/2010/2/1...-marleau-facts

-The first time Patrick Marleau met Owen Nolan, Nolan called him "Pete." Marleau was too embarrassed to correct him, and so it continued for six years. Marleau eventually orchestrated Nolan's trade to Toronto just to end the humiliation.
-Patrick Marleau recently discovered Kanye West and won't stop telling people how great he is.

-Patrick Marleau's idea of comedy is doing a "Borat" impression around Evgeni Nabokov. Marleau's never seen Borat.

-Patrick Marleau's favorite part about going skiing is the chair lift.

Mod edit: And many, many more available at BOC.

I definitely don't see any connection to the real world Marleau but it was a funny read.

Don't really understand the purpose though.

Marleau always looks awkward. It's just a joke around BOC among Sharks/Ducks/Kings fans. This is a culmination of silliness - not to be taken seriously.

My favorite:
Patrick Marleau's second least favorite thing in the world is losing a hockey game. His least favorite thing is making banter while getting a hair cut.

Ha, the only thing more awkward than that is when the dentist tries to start a conversation, amiright?

In terms of keeping me distracted from my math homework, I'll give it a 2 out of 10. I was only able to read until I discovered I share the same name as Marleau's unit. :

Getting leadership from Patrick Marleau is like getting a handjob from Pope John Paul

-Marleau was approached at a bar once by a woman; it turned out she had left her coat on the back of his chair.

I know that they are meant to be funny and that we aren't meant to take them seriously, but I honestly find most of them highly insulting.

And hey, we have no idea what's going on in the locker room, so we can't exactly totally say that Patty has no leadership.

They really aren't meant as such. Most of them are making fun of his rather awkward nature, which I actually find endearing. (Seriously, just look at him smile.) If you're a regular reader of BoC, you'd know that RudyKelly would kill to have Marleau on the Kings.

i don't think it's insulting. i think it's a clever reversal on all the badassery of the chuck norris facts. marleau's not a badass in the kicking people's ***** sense (hockey sense yes!)...he's just a normal guy.

True... He is possibly the most amazingly awkward person ever. I just love it.

Marleau has really benefitted from getting heatley on the line. Can't believe the sens were stupid enough to trade heater. You need to be more patient with players while in a slump, or get some half decent coaching.

These aren't funny at all and only tangentially relate to Marleau at all
