Maybe Gillies looked very bad in this game

With Souray, Staios and Smid out, Boynton could easily play in the Oilers top 4. We've just called up Alex Plante and he's going to be embarrassed. Why not pick him up? Don't the Oilers have first shot at him?

He'll be claimed I think. I could see Boston, who has been horrible defensively as of late, being interested in bringing him back. Maybe even Vancouver, as they have Mitchell, Bieksa, and Salo all out with injuries.

As far as I understand it, Gillies MUST go through waivers in order to be brought up from Bridgeport, where's he's played a few games this year.

Simply a technicality.

Ironically, Nick Boynton could prolly really help the Islanders immediately and for the rest of the season. They're thin on the blueline and only have Gervais as a righty shot.

boyton would be a welcome addition to the habs.

atleast for the rest of the season we could use him, our defense has been less than average and we need more shut down physical guys in our lineup, just need more grit.

Meh, Boynton has had moments where he looked ok, otherwise he's been pretty underwhelming for the Ducks this year (Eminger would be another horribly underwhelming pickup.) He may get claimed, but I wouldn't be totally surprised if he didn't. If you use him on the third pairing, you will be fine. Just don't use him more than that.

Gillies was likely signed as a short term fix. He has to pass through waivers to go to the minors.

And no, Boynton is terrible. There is a reason why he is getting waived and not traded.
That one guarantee made you look like a fool. The other wasn't any amazing prediction. I said earlier this year that I thought Jiggy would wind up in Toronto before the deadline, but I didn't just go yapping my mouth about guarantees. No matter though, there's no reason to discuss your bs cause everyone on HF knows about it already.

I still stand by the fact that Boynton could fetch something at the deadline. He's the type of player a team would trade for who was comfortable with the core of their team but wanted to add some experience to the bottom pairing. However I did forget what someone mentioned in another thread. We had to make room for Blake on the roster. Still I would have rather seen eminger waived just to see if someone would have picked him up, although it probably wouldn't have happened.

Pens are looking at Boynton, maybe doing a swap with Skoula. Claim Boynton and put Skoula on waivers. McKee was also a healthy scratch last night.
