and what moves has sather made in free agency to make you think he wont screw all of this up

I disagree, I think the team, as it was, was destined for a top 6-7 pick. And I'm well aware of his contract status. It's the potential for him to be re-signed that I'm afraid of. He's exactly the kind of garbage Sather has made a habit out of committing himself to long-term.

Vinny Prospal

I dont have any reassuring examples for me to think sather wont screw this up....all one can do is hope that he has learned from his mistakes finally.

I dont think they were destined for a top 6-7 pick. maybe in the mid to lower teens.

On the other point I completely understand how you feel about it. I'm just as worried as you are. I want jokinen to be gone after the season, not even re-signed for cheaper than what he's making even if he plays well with us.

That's exactly what the Rangers need but as far as the things I've heard about Jokinen (lazy, locker room cancer) I can't imagine him bringing any sort of leadership or motivation to the other players. We need someone like a Scott Neidermayer, a older veteran player who has a great mixture of a good skill set, blueline offense, and a strong strong sense of leadership.

Coming soon to a hockey channel near you:

"Sather waves his magic wand as Bob Murray dishes out Scott Neidermayer and James Wisniewski for Wade Redden and Michal Rozsival."

If only.

yeah i dont know, we have to have one of most bipolar fanbases in the entire league.. guy wins a trade and everyone jumps back on his side.. is the extra cap space that we got back going to win us a cup? no, probably not. is olli jokinen the savior that will lead us to a cup? no. his tenure is still mediocre, this trade does not change a thing, we still need a change

Trade Joke. Don't lose him for nothing. I am sure there are plenty of teams that could use his services on the second line in a playoff run. He should be at least as valuable as Ant was last year. I'd say Joke>Ant.

I'm certainly not letting off the pedal when it comes to regime change regarding Sather.

All he's done with this trade here is clean up a fraction of the mess he's created with these asinine contracts and liberal sprinkling of NTC's.
