If it were strictly off training camp and preason games it would be Patrice Bergeron. But who will center the 3rd line come opening night, it could be anyone one of a group of players. Bergeron, Zinojvev, Hilbert, Grosek, Donato, or Zamuner. Also add a free agent to the list of possibilities.

ps. maybe the leafs could help us out a bit. Antropov for the rights to Berard.

edit:about ten hours later, i finally realized this was my 1000th post.

Rolston gets my vote. IMO he can't handle 2nd line duties. I'd put Bergeron at #2.............for the 10 games at least.

Third line

My sentiments, exactly, Don. Let's face it, we had a successful season from the Thornton-Knuble-Muzz line. And from the Rolston-Axe-LaPointe line. Why mess with success?

Okie left us in a real mess by trading Stumpel. He could have been feeding Sammy and an improved Huml or Sammy 2 to form a formidable second line.

Now, the line combinations are all screwed up. We're placing all our hopes on either an 18 yr. old kid, a Siberian who has never played on North American rinks, and a guy recovering from a hernia operation who had a groin injury and has little NHL experience.

We'd better pray, and I'm sure Okie is on his knees every night, that one of these kids comes through. Otherwise, a trade is a must. Antropov would be an upgrade. But I doubt the Leafs would let him go in the division.
