Best lines with healthy team

We currently have 7 potential top 6 forwards: AKost, SKost, Pouliot, Gomez, Cam, Gionta, Pleks.

We have a bunch of potential bottom 6 forwards (including callups): Laps, Metro, Moen, Darche, Dags, White, Pyatt, Patches, plus one of the top 6 guys, or other Hamilton guys.

We have 8 D: Markov, OB, Mara, Gill, MAB, Hammer, Gorges, Spacek

Goalies: don't need to go there (see Halak/Price thread).

What do you think our best lines are given everything we've seen this year, and given a healthy lineup? The guy I wonder about is Skost since I'd love to see him develop in the top 6.

I'm sold!
I'd like to see Neilson as a spare for some reason. I really liked his game in the preseason and games later in the year can get pretty chippy.

I like Darche and Lapierre together, so I would keep them on the same line.

Cammalleri - Plekanec - A. Kostitsyn
Pouliot - Gomez - Gionta
Darche - Lapierre - S. Kostitsyn
Moen - Metropolit - Bergeron

Markov - O'Byrne
Hamrlik - Spacek
Gill - Gorges

Halak / Price

I love each of Markov, Hamrlik and Spacek having their own pairing too.

this is perfection!

well actually acquiring a better 3rd line center like cullen would be excellent with sergei and moen on the 3rd line but these lines aree great with the assets we have right now

would also like to get rid of spacek and mara and let bergeron bring some offense from the back or acquire another puck moving defenseman in the process...

one can only dream!

i feel bad for Sergei if he needs to play with Lapierre and Moen.

In an ideal world. Gainey bring another big winger via a trade.

Then it would be:

Gionta-Gomez-Pouliot
Cammalleri-Plekanec-BIG WINGER
S. Kostitsyn-Lapierre- A. Kostitsyn

I wouldnt mind Lapierre with the bros. Lapierre could be the Burrows of the Sedins.

Good to see Sergei playing back at NHL calibre, but he should stay on the 3rd line (and be used as top 6 fill-in). I think with his talent & ability perhaps we could get some production out of it if he's with some other talented young guys, something the team desperately needs from the bottom 6.

I would still put Price before Halak!, buyout MAB and add Neilson.

lol? D'Agostini on the first line and Cammy and Pouliot on the 3rd?

I know your plan is to have 3 offensive lines but come on

Best lines are obvious for me , the whole argument that we can't use injuries to justify the lack of chemistry (and thus offensive output) is ridiculous. We are a top 6 team in the East , we should be where Buffalo is , with this lineup (assuming no long term injuries):

Cammalleri-Plekanec-A.Kos (self-explanatory)
Pouliot-Gomez-Gionta (self-explanatory)
S.kos-Lapierre(when you give him minutes he plays really well)-Dagostini (finisher for s.kos)
Moen-Metro-Pacioretty (this line showed alot of chemistry and pacioretty could use the playoff experience (assuming we make it).)

Markov-O'byrne
(develop this kid into the top 4 d-man he can be)
Hamrlik-Gorges
(Reliable pairing)
Spacek-Gill (spacek plays on the left and gill provides the big presence on d)
Bergeron/Mara healthy scratch/spare

Price/Halak
(whichever way this is going to play out , I won't restart the debate).

for the last couple of years, successful teams have iced decent offensive 3rd lines. here lays our problem.
I don't see much problem with the above lineup if we fill the 2 spots on the 3rd line with players who can play with Sergei (e.g. Ray Whitney would be one).

i agree 100% and i would add that one of those 2 players need respectable size and need somwhat of a physical presence... Right now IF healthy we have 2 lines the other 2 are crap sorry but imho.

The Kost broz MUST play together. I have the feeling that we're so wasting them.
I'd put Pouliot down on 3rd, try to add a more offensive center and get a solid 3rd line.
I'd even be willing to try Gionta on third, but I absolutely want the broz to develop their game together.
Both of them can be excellent, we know they have great offensive potential.
Every time they've been used together, they've shown good things.

The Sedins can be separated and still be good, but put them on the same line and magic happens.
What if the Broz can be the same??..It's a tragedy we haven't placed them along side one another so far this year.

If things don't work, at least we know Gio-Gom-Pou and Cam-Plek-A.Ko work well together.

Spacek – O'Byrne
Gill – Gorges (... or Gorges – Subban! )
Mara

Halak
Price

... but your proposal/observation is interesting; especially if Gainey brings another top9 big winger onboard.
Lapierre with the bros. vs Burrows and the Sedins. Intriguing!
