Please W tonight. I don't want to see us coming out flat. I always get nervous when we play teams like these.

Go Flyers! Thanks, MSE. You are so good, others steal your work.

Great song choice MSE.

The Rangers drafted Hugh Jessiman and let Blair Betts walk.

Just in case you needed a pick-me-up.

DNFlyers

Leighton starting, Emery's not dressing. You heard it here first: http://go.philly.com/frequentflyers 3 minutes ago from web

Quote:
EDMONTON, Alberta – In a way, tonight’s starting goalie in Edmonton is no surprise.

It’s almost logical: the Flyers are playing against the last place Edmonton Oilers. It’s a perfect time to rest Ray Emery, who has started eight straight games since coming back from abdominal surgery on Jan. 17.

That’s why Michael Leighton will be tonight’s starter at Rexall Place (9:30 p.m. EST start).

The surprise here, though, is that Ray Emery won’t even be on the Flyers bench tonight. He’ll be in street clothes.

...

It was clear that Emery needed rest: he did not partake in Tuesday’s practice in Edmonton and skipped the morning game-day skate in Calgary on Monday. The Flyers are clearly counting on him as their No. 1 for their run towards the playoffs.

I like the call. He shouldnt play this game because he has played so many in a row after coming back from injury and we shouldnt need him to play this game because its the worst team in the league.

They're out of the playoff race; no need to unload any assets during the season. They'll evaluate their situation in the off-season.

Woo Leighton and Krajicek playing. Leighton with the shutout, and Krajicek with a goal and an assists

Kind of odd that they're doing this. He'll get plenty of rest during the Olympic break.

Changes to Edmonton's lineup, too:

Pisani, Nilsson scratched for Oilers-Flyers game

http://www.edmontonjournal.com/sport...340/story.html

Quote:
EDMONTON — If the Edmonton Oilers are showcasing winger Fernando Pisani before the NHL trade deadline, scouts can only see how he looks walking up and down the press box.

Pisani will be a healthy scratch for a second straight game tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers. He’s bummed out, but he’s being a good soldier, as he has been his entire Oilers’ career.

“I’m not going to lie to you. Any time you sit out it’s not fun. I can’t pout about it ... that’s not going to do me any good,” said Pisani, taking his response out of the standard handbook.

He’s not about to blast anybody, but he missed enough games with his colitis, broken leg and bad back, and now he’s a healthy scratch, a month before the deadline. He’s upset.
Quote:
To get Ryan Potulny, the former Flyers’ centre, back in the lineup after he missed Monday’s game with the flu, the Oilers will also sit winger Robert Nilsson. He hasn’t been scratched since October when he was on the bubble.
