Leafs or Bruins

The Leafs are playing worse than we had expected, and are at the bottom right now.

Boston has been free falling and has a worse offence than we have.

Can we catch, and pass Boston?

...which team finishes higher in the standings?

Its possible, but very unlikely. Only chance it would happen is if we sweep all the games left vs BOS and even then its unlikely.

Boston will make a move at the deadline that puts them into 9th in the conference.

I think Jacobs is about at the end of his line and changes will be coming in Beantown. Boston is too good to play this poorly. Although, it sure is nice too see them struggle.

I'm being as optimistic as I can be, when I think we can make it out of the bottom five in the league. Anything more than that will be a shock.

Does anyone even look at the standings? If we get out of the bottom 5, we would be right with Boston

Boston will either make the playoffs or will finish 9th or 10th in the conference

It'll be hilarious on the boards if we finish right up near Boston, just above the lottery; #25 and #24.... Boston on with the tank nation ******** ends up just as they had wished otherwise.

I do think we will be quite successful over this last little stretch pre and post-olympics. The team just looks so much different, so much more capable; with a much more positive attitude. And we have the goaltending to match now... our lack of offensive depth should be solved by the return of Grabovski post-Olympics as well. I have a good feeling about the rest of the season. It'll be over soon. That's a relief.

even if they do bad they still win. while i think it is possible we get out of the bottom 5 it is unlikely we get out of the bottom 10 (ill go on record and say impossible) so if boston has 2 top 10 picks it will be pretty make them a stronger team in the future.

The standings depressed me too much so I stopped looking at them. But apparently after the bottom 5, it's pretty close

Quickly, someone make a classless "Boston tank nation" thread!

Ideally both of us finish out of the top 10, so none of their picks are good.

I think it's safe to say that the chances of Toronto catching Boston are very very slim to none.

The only way it happens is if Boston makes a solid effort at tanking, or they get a big injury. They still have a lot of depth left from last year, a year where they were a much more relevant/stronger team.

the standings are insane right now. boston is 2 points out of a playoff spot, and 1 point from a lottery pick...

they really are in an ideal situation.

it is possible but even though their so called free falling it's not like we've been lighting it up as of late. With the deadline coming and yet at least one more part of our offence looking like he'll be moved we could be struggling very badly for the remainder of the season. I don't see J.S shuting out every team so I just don't see us moving up too much in the standings. Although, I will admit that I didn't notice there spot in the standings until now. If they keep free falling they could be looking at 2 very high picks this draft. That's a scary thought.
