Tedenby is going to be a damn good player.
wow ... the devils gave up 2 of their top 3 prospects and a 1st rounder? Thats a LOT for a rental player .. I am shocked.

that is the equivalent of us giving up Subban + Pacioretty + a 1st + somebody else .. wow

He wanted to go to NJ so as to poison Marty before the Olympics - it's a Russian conspiracy!

If thats true thats ridiculous overpayment for 25 games and the playoffs. Bergfors is a rising star, Oduya is probably their 2-3 best d-man right now--i just dont see the point to this by the devils. I'd say they would have had as good a chance of winning the cup with the team they have now--but thats just me.

What sucks is I have him in one of my pools. His offensive production will probably go down now.

But then again the Habs probably want to keep him.

Food for thought for the Habs' GM.
Then maybe they should work on signing him...

Gainey.

yea definitely. If we are out of it by trade deadline, we should really look at trading him. We could get a 1st and a decent prospect given how limited the market for top centers will be.

A healthy team with a system that they CAN play. I'll say it again, very good team. WITH Kovalchuk...minor contender. We are not as bad as people seem. With Cammy and AK out...we're in miracle mode.

Ouch, bad trade for the Devils if they don't win the cup.

You can't really risk 4 pieces for a guy who just turned down a huge contract. If you are one of the top teams in the league and think you have a shot at the cup, you take a chance, but not if you are a middle of the pack team.

Lamiorello will NOT give Kovalchuk the money he is looking for. This is clearly a GM who thinks they were a scorer away from a Stanley Cup and throwing everything else out of the window to get him.

Because he's turning 23 and only started playing in the NHL now whereas Pacioretty is 21. Who else would you compare him to?

I've supported Gomez from the beginning, so it wasn't as much a bash as much as it is a tongue-in-cheek comment.

That being said, his salary is inhibiting us from acquiring a player that could actually play at that level. That upsets me.

Nobody..
Bergfors in his first season is already 10 times better then Pacioretty.. I'm not saying that he won't get better, but right now bergfors already showed that he is capable of playing in the NHL, not pac.

Yes, um, if you were Plekanec's agent, would you negotiate with Gainey right now, or would you tell him "let's talk at the end of the season when my client has had a career year"?

Contracts are negotiated between two parties, you know.

If it is just for a rental, that is a steep price to pay. But we said the same thing a few years ago when the Pens traded Armstrong, Esposito, and Christensen for Hossa and Dupuis.

Then you trade him, if a player was unwilling to negotiate with me at this point in the season.. I'd know what is up.

This is going to be Mark Streit version 2.0.
