Paul Szczechura on waivers. Holy cow! Let's pick him up. He's shorter than 5'11", a PPG AHL player that who's game hardly translates to the NHL playing with the likes of St-Louis, Lecavalier and Stamkos... He's also 47% in face-offs to boot!!

Actually with the state of Springfield, it might be a good idea to grab a guy like this. Pick him up, waive him down to the Falcons and that gives them more depth.
I would take Witt over Gilbert and Grebs--both are getting more then Witt

Will is a shutdown d-man and that is what the oilers need
i disagree, i'd rather have gilbert for sure, and probably even grebs, just because they're having 1 bad year doesn't mean they are cast aways
If Witt is such a great Defensive Dman why has his +/- in his career been so brutal?
10 seasons as a minus player (career low of -34 last year)
6 seasons as a plus player (of those 6 only 2 were in double digits +12 & +14)

If management does their jobs, we should be able to get a better "shutdown" Dman for cheaper. You know, one that can actually shut down, coz Witt is really just a physical Dman and not much else.

Exactly. Of course we need a player like Witt, but more importantly we need a player better than Witt.
