His life is awesome. Hit's refresh a bunch of times on twitter and retweets what everyone else is saying but never gives cred for it but still makes money. Sweet job. I think bob mckenzie took a shot at him "Can't believe anyone other than K Allen would take credit for breaking Kovalchuk trade. One thing to spec, another to say its done. "

With the Oilers being as bad as they are and building for the future why would they trade a young player with potential in Brule? It just doesn't make sense to me but I'm not a GM so what do I know....

Gilbert Brule a healthy scratch?

Talking to sources today and the Montreal Canadiens are still very much pursuing Gilbert Brule, who is a healthy scratch tonight. Other teams interested in Brule...The NY Islanders, Ottawa Senators, and Buffalo Sabres.

I will be back with more.
I would love Brule in Montreal and maybe even Cogliano!

To be fair to Eklund, I don't think that shot was at Eklund. Look at his feed, he retweeted Allen who made the scoop several times and specifically posted "this is why I told people to follow Allen" at one point.

Eklund wasn't the one claiming it as his own, he was pretty up front.

Habs closing in on Brule

Why Brule?

Another small center?

Who was drafted after carey price?

does that mean carey price to edmonton?

So the plan is to get all the player from the 2005 1st round ?

Anyway, I got no problem with the Habs trying to get him. But I hope it's a Tender/Pouliot kind of trade. Underachiever for underachiever.

Price should be untoucheable.

Weber for Brule?

Oilers need a puck moving d-man with Visnovsky and Souray on the block.

If Price is going the other way they would have to send more than Brule.

Brule's not an underachiever, he's having a pretty good year.

I fail to see the logic. Price has more value than Brule, we got Pouliot who was drafted before both the same year without dealing Price anyways

I think Brule replaces and upgrades over Metropolit long term.

Weber and S. Kost for Brule and a late pick would do it for me....

Edm would have the Gagner-Kost tandem with a good young puck moving D and Brule would be a good fit (hope) on the second line.

Looks like Eklund just read this thread...

"FWIW, Montreal could do something this weekend I was told. depends on a few factors. source would not deny or confirm if it was a goalie."

http://twitter.com/Eklund/statuses/8694460264

Way to go, everyone...

I guess Ek read the report of the Habs recalling 3 players and said what the heck and threw that out there.... When Gainey does something it is totally unexpected and seems to come out on nowhere...

Brule would be awesome with the uncertainty of Plekanec's return next season.

he's a natural center and he has what? 25pts this year with the oilers playing 13/15min a game not too many guys on our team have 25pts and he's only 23yo

anyway i could see a sergei for brule kind of deal but at the same time im not sure if he fit here since he's another 5"10 forward but gainey seems in love these day with smurf

so who knows....im even surprised the oilers are trying to move him but its eklund so wtf....
