I would think if Askey were Biron's backup we would be heading for the Ovechkin lottery.
Only if Biron was struggling and Askey was asked to play a lot.
If Biron played really well and was fine with a Brodeur-esque workload, then I could be the Sabres back up goalie and things would be OK.
And I think that Biron could be poised for a breakout year this year. The team has less drama surrounding it, it looks like he will get a lot more goal support this year, and he has Corsi around full time to try and improve his game.
He will never be Hasek, but I think he could definitely be equal to say Patrick Lalime in Ottawa. And that should be enough to get this team into the playoffs.
